So far, I have not been able to get the Horned Filcher to trigger when i take a selfie with it. I've tried in and out of combat. I got credit for Drakewing instead. 12/1/22

Took about a dozen pics of Palla of the Wing and no credit. Same experience as others mentioned on the Horned Filcher, no credit for that but gives credit for the Drakewing. Seems unobtainable to me which is a shame.

Dungeon Ohn'ahra does not count. Take a picture of her in /way 57.59 31.91 instead.

The Apex Blazewings inside of the Neltharus dungeon did not count for me.

Glade Ohuna found at 64.61, 55.05 in Ohn'ahran Plains, sitting on a rock.

I am unable to take a picture because of the Foal's Training Bow buff that gives you an extra action button. Seems to be bugging out the selfie camera so the camera HUD doesn't pop up to let you take selfies. Unable to remove this buff.

Edit: As suggested by the comments below managed to find one at 61.08, 52.19 right on the edge of the quest zone where the camera worked :)

I am starting to think that most of these have more then one location for example Glade Ohuna has two locations one is near a area that can't be done due to the UI button from the bow triggering a bug to make it not count, but there is a half dome with tons of them that actually give credit for it. So I am assuming the NPCs have different locations too might want to really look in each zone to double check especially if you cleared all story lines because they could be hidden behind a phasing issue due to not finishing a certain quest or storyline. And yes I am currently exploring every Knook and Craney to see if they have another location

I’m an avid birder/ornithology grad student and I’m convinced there’s a birder on the dev team due to this achievement + all the chickadee calls and yellow warbler songs that you hear everywhere. I know that once I get this title it may be the only one I use on all my toons

Found the "Pine Flicker" in The Azure Span ~ 25.77 29.27.
It's a critter flying around. But couldn't get any Credit for "That's Pretty Neat" :-/

the only place i've been able to get credit for Halia Cloudfeather, Palla of the Wing and Avis Gryphonheart was on top of a pillar at 33.03, 75.55 in the Waking Shores (they don't seem to be there everyday)

As of today, Halia, Palla and Avis gave credit for me at Waking shores 33, 75 -ish. Where the Forgotten Gyphon tends to be up as well. The Gryphon was not there when I took pictures of them. I've visited this place many times on the beta and on live, and these npcs were not up always.

You can take photo of the bird, even if it's dead !
It worked for me after my group killed Zenet Avis, i took a photo and it worked !

I was able to get credit for the Pine Flicker at 66 13 in Azure Span. The one at 38 38 is still not giving credit.

EDIT: Looks like most of them are fixed. Got credit for Chef Fry-Aerie and Irisdescent Peafowl without any issues.

Does anybody know where Quackers spawnpoint is? I'm missing Eldoren(see him on Handynotes but no spawn siting yet) Gryphon(I'm assuming it spawns when the npc's are there but haven't been fortunate enough to see) and Quackers, but no info on this one.

Certain quests make the camera stop working. If a WQ/quest is up you may need to wait until the next cycle.

Eldoron spawns at the end of the Big 2hours Hunt Timer in Thaladrazus... and it counts for acm

To confirm what @bloody2 said, I was at the spawn spot when the Hunt left Thaldraszus and Eldoren spawned one minute later. It actually spawned two of them, although I have to think that was simply a bug of some sort.

EDIT: Did not occur today after the hunt left Thal. Weird to think it was a coincidence that two of us saw it happen at different times yesterday; perhaps Eldoren is a "not every day" rare and it only happens when it's in the rotation? More research needed!

Quackers the Terrible did spawn during the moving of the Aylaag Camp-event. He spawned in the first wave of animals as we entered the Cloverwood Hollow, and the camp was moving from the Eaglewatch Outpost to the Aylaag Outpost. I wasn't able to get a picture of him due to him being instantly nuked and he died in 5 seconds. I will check if he spawns again when the camp moves again in a few days, and I will update this comment then! Let's get our That's Pretty Neat!-achievement! :)

Avis Gryphonheart, Palla of the Wing and Halia Cloudfeather were bugged at release and not giving credit. Just tried again and you can tick all 3 off at once from the same location again :)

So if you're like me - 'kill first ask questions later' - you killed her before you took the selfie...

Not to worry - she will respawn in about 5 minutes or less, and you can then proceed to get your selfie :)

Does anyone know what causes Ohn'ahra to not be in her nest? I assume she's tied to a quest in some way and that's why she isn't appearing but I did the story questline for Ohn'ahran Plains so I would have assumed that was what did it.

EDIT: Purely speculative, but I think she might only appear after completing Nokhud Offensive. She wasn't there, I did the dungeon, she's now there. In the dungeon, she is held captive by one of the bosses.

Eldoren the Reborn spawned today at around 12:06 AM on MoonGuard-US WM off. I have no idea about the conditions to spawn it, but I am so grateful to have been in Thaldraszus.

I don't know if they upped some of the spawn rates of the rares needed for this achievement, but I encountered Eldoren, Drakewing and Nergazurai within 10 minutes of each other with WM on.
edit: 8 minutes after it was killed, a second Nergazurai spawned on the same server.

you can't take selfies when there is a world quest in the area. you're frozen. you can't get off the vehicle. you can't /reload ui. you can't do anything. have to relog. consider yourself warned.

Trying to get Ohn'ahra - with nest, without nest. Perched and flying. No luck. Does this one require the dungeon like another poster mentioned?
Are we supposed to see the (sometimes on and sometimes failed) purple spot?

Remember to actually click "Take Selfie" on the camera. And not do a screenshot when holding the camera like i tried to do on multiple birds without it counting towards the achievement like a idiot.

NPCs with weird conditions are linked on their waypoints, spaces are between sets per zone for my own readability.

Please check the comments at Quackers the Terrible before you start; you need materials to make a duck trap.

Double check that you got credit for achievement progress at each NPC before you leave.

Fun fact: corpses still give you credit for this achievement.

Liskron appeared as a rare and was dead by the time I realised I needed it for the achievement. I took a picture of the corpse and still got credit!
