Everything you need to know about JewelCraft.

Given that this toy is pretty expensive at the moment, I'm sure some people are hesitant to buy or craft it without fully knowing what it is (though, the basics are obvious). Also important to note that the toy, like all others, is account-wide. It also has no cooldown!

JewelCraft plays like the very popular Bejeweled game - the object is to score as many points as possible by switching the location of 2 objects to create a horizontal or vertical row of 3 or more of the same kind. When you find a match, that row is destroyed and the objects above it fall to fill the grid. Each match grants you points, more depending on how many are destroyed in a single move. Usually there is a time limit in this game, but WoW's version does not appear to have one.

When you use the item, you gain a buff that will activate and display the game-board. It is important to note that there is no UI associated with the game; instead the 8x8 grid is attached a short distance away from your character's face, rendered in the game world. You'll want to zoom in to first-person to play and I recommend finding a relatively smooth, monochrome wall as a background to make it easier to see. Other players can see you do the looping "crafting" animation, but cannot see your board.

You can move and cast abilities while playing, but entering combat will cancel the game.

If you earn 250,000 points in a single game, you will earn this achievement: Hot Swapper. Do note that the yellow text that pops up after successful moves is your current score, not the number of points you earned for that move.
