You have to kill the Wild Argali. If they're not counting towards the total, keep hitting the summoning whistle until they do.

I flew back to the Little Scales Daycare and was really confused when I couldn't feed Posidriss (even though he was glittering like a quest object). It took me an embarrassingly long time to realize that we have to use the quest item Posidriss's Whistle to summon "our own" Posidriss which you can feed.

I had no clue what to do with this quest. The whelpling didn't have a chat bubble or interact with me at the Little Scales. I went ahead and did the 2nd part (get acorn milk and feed it) from reading the comments here. I could interact with the whelpling once I got out of city.

I completed the quest and did NOT get Posidriss's Whistle. I also looked in my battle pets journal and there is not a Posidriss battle pet added. Did I do something wrong?

So in essence, the way to make the whelpling sleepy is to take him on an uninspired and boring quest. I love it when Blizz is ironically self-critical 😜

Pick up the quest, use the "Posidriss's Whistle to summon Posidriss. You will get a chat bubble to interact with him and he will tell you what you need to do next.

So I'm finished with this quest, but I wanted to point out a weird glitch/mechanic.

- Step 1: I did the first part of the quest (telling the story) while still at the daycare near his nest. I don't think it matters what you tell him.

- Step 2: I flew to Emerald Sanctuary and bought the Acorn milk (it comes in a stack of 5). You give him the milk, but he doesn't like it. So, I moved on to step three...

- Step 3: You "count" the Wild Argali by killing them. I killed the ones just outside of Maruukai.

Now for the glitch. After I killed the Wild Argali it says to return to the daycare to turn in the quest, I went back to Maruuki to take the flight path back to Valdrakken. Before I flew back, sold all my junk from killing the Argali to a vendor - including the rest of the Acorn Milk. When I did this, it reset the quest back to step 2, to give him Acorn milk. I went back to the vendor and bought the milk back, and the quest again showed as ready for turn in. I flew back and turned it in, and the remaining milk disappeared from my bags.

Posidriss' (Posy's) pronouns are they/them! They are the only whelp in the daycare questline exclusively referred to with they/them, both through the entirety of the questline AND in their flavor text. The other whelps all distinctly use she/her or he/him (flavor text included). I was very happy to notice this small choice on the part of writers, and I thank them for it. :)

Bummer I have to fly ALL that way? Nope, I had the "Dreamsurge Helpers Buff" while in Waking Shores, clicked it to see what it has to offer - Boom - Acorn Milk!

It's quicker to take the portal in Valdrakken to the Central Encampment in Emerald Dream and buy Acorn Milk from the innkeeper there than traveling to Emerald Sanctuary. You can then hearth back to Valdrakken and quickly fly down to where the Argali are then fly back up to the daycare.
