Getting to Fireplume Ridge is a bit of a pain. You have to jump across rocks. If you fall, you die - but you do pop up at the graveyard on the island itself, able to res. Could get expensive if you were to die every day just to get across. Once there, there are a lot of those vents you can jump on to head up the mountain. Actually really quite cool to be leaping up into the air while you kite fire hawks. :)

Be wary of the elementals, which have double the health of a regular mob, even though they are not elite.

The dailies on Fireplume Peak can all be made comparatively trivial by obtaining the Convalescence of Winds buff.

To get this buff, simply jump at the final little floating platform (the ones right in front of the quest givers) that has a thermal vent. It only lasts 2 minutes, but that should be all you need.

You've probably noticed you have to use stepping stones in order to do this quest, if so, here's a helpful tip:

If you fall off of a stepping stone, a druid of the talon in flight form will catch you and carry you to the floating island with the fire hawks.

Ah, those dreaded stepping stones.

The trick to getting across is, you have to run a few steps, then jump. Sometimes jumping without running just won't get you across. If you can get through Blackfathom Deeps, you can make it.

Don't try to go back down by the stepping stones. On the south side at about (30.0 57.0) there is a buff you can see. Stand on the edge in front of the buff and jump forward. It will take you across.

Territorial Birds

Slay 5 Fire Hawks.

Description

The fire hawks are upset by our continued presence. They're getting extremely hostile, and not just in the usual territorial ways. I worry that if we leave them unchecked, they will soon be joining the assault on our tree, and I'm not sure we're capable of handling that.

Go across the way to Fireplume Peak and do what you have to to keep them in check. I'm far more concerned with our safety right now than theirs, so be decisive about it.
