During this quest, you will be encountering mobs much higher level than you (level 30+ in Arathi Highlands). What I did was strip down completely in anticipation of dying while running through Arathi, and also had my VW go ahead and aggro mobs before I walked by.

Be sure to bring plenty of shards to use this technique. It takes a while to prepare but I did not die once.

Actually I find if you have your Voidwalker up while you get agro on the way, just sacrifice and keep running.. it got me there. When you do get to Comar, it easy mode for a lvl 20.

ok, i did the succ quest on my UD lock and then someone gave me this quest. i already am able to summon the succ, so i was wondering what would be the outcome of doing this one?

I must admit that I thought I read wrong when I got this quest yesterday. A level 20 warlock (alt) - from Undercity to Wetlands? This is so stupid on so many levels, personally what annoys me the most isn't the fact you have to pass through high lvl areas with mobs that can kill you in a matter of seconds, because with a bit of skill and so on, you can either avoid or as mentioned just use the Voidwalker properly.

However the fact you have to_run_ this far away, keep in mind my blood elf warlock (nor would I imagine the other warlocks regardless of race) has never been around those parts so there's no flightpaths, no to mention the chance of running into enemy faction is enormous on a server like Magtheridon, I

I just swam from tarren mill to the wetlands, did it at level 27. Only problem i encountered was getting to the water near tarren mills but beyond that it was a leasurely swim.

well, my warlock is actually a lovely lvl 18 Blood Elf. i readed all the qs needed to get succy nd i belive that u can try swim from silverpine to wetlands. i didn't try that, but please, tell me if it works. but u can also try get to hammerfall nd other towns nd get many flight paths, that will be usefull at higher lvls, so as Talmin said. your choice :P.

P.S.: i belive that i shall choose the flight paths :P

P.P.S: nd yes, i belive that is totally stupid to need to go from silvermoon to wetlands only to complete a q chain at so low lvl

Ok, I went ahead and did the swiming thing for those of you who want to take the road less traveled. 24 UD Lock when I got around to this quest.

Time : 20 min

After killing Dalin, I started my swim by Pyrewood Village. Just follow the wall around. You have to stay CLOSE to the shore once you start leaving Silverpine {you will zone in and out of Silverpine a few times}, there is a lot of fatigue zone. Once you make it out of the Dead Zone area into Hillsbrad, make -sure- you are soulstoned.

Here the dead zone opens up. You will have a big island on one side of you and the coast on the other. Swim towards the island {Purgation Isle} but DON'T get too close. These mobs are about level 50 and will beat you down hard. But you do want to get far enough away to avoid the 28ish murlocs and naga all along the coast of Hillsbrad. The murlocs at least swim VERY far from shore. From there you can pretty much safely swim from "island" to "island" to avoid all mobs {the islands are just big rocks}. There are no real fatigue zones here. At the last island head towards the shore again.

Now you've hit Arathi. Stay towards the shore until about 17, 80. At 17, 80, swim due south to avoid the Naga. Do not go to the shore, there are more 28-30 murlocs. Once you can see the murlocs, it's a Scylla and Charibdys moment. Stay in the middle and you should not agro either. Enter the pass. There are no mobs here. Swim under the Thandol span, on your left, past the bridge is a ramp up. This is the only way out. Be sure you are still soulstoned and your VW is out.

At the top of the ramp is a level 30 bomb throwing dwarf. *sneer* Send in your blueberry, stay on the edge of the cliff and run past onto the bridge. Call off your VW and you should lose agro about halfway over the bridge. Comar will be on your right as you leave the bridge.

I died once due to being far too curious about Purgation Isle :X Never had to sacrifice my VW.

I actually had no problem at all..I died once cause I had went a little too far into the wetlands but it took me all and all to get both hearts an hour :D not bad considering I didn't really fight anyone..Thanks everyone for the advice I followed it and now I got my Succubus!! yay

soloed at 22.
no real problems at all. Died once from those stupid Stormgarde cavalrymen. They one shot me before I could even sac VW. I SS'd summoned VW and kept on going. Even with stopping for flightpaths and fighting a few mobs, it took less than 45 min.

This wasn't as hard as expected. After entering Arathi I didn't even get in combat untill close to Hammerfall (cause I was a bit careless)

But anyway, hard or easy... running through 3 zones for a heart is retarded.

Dunno why you guys went to so much trouble...did this one as level 20 'lock...an easy walk down the road past the seplechur (Picking up the "Journey to Tarren Mill" quest on the way), Dalin rides around in front of the gate...just wait til he's in range to pull out from the other mobs and he's a joke.

Then turn around and take the road west and North to Tarren Mill, then go back south to the main road and follow it all the way to Wetlands. Just evade agro mobs, and your only real difficulty should be getting ganked by ?? levels who have nothing better to do than gank lowbies all day.

Even getting ganked twice by PCs, and losing my pet once (when I gave in to the temptation to mine some silver), this entire quest took me a total of 45 minutes, which was when I Hearthed back to the Undercity for the next part. If I hadn't lollygagged along the way, it would have taken 30.

This quest is not difficult. The first kill by the Greymane Wall is straightforward. For the second guy simply pick a quiet hour on your server and walk on the road from Hillsbrad through Arathi. I did it first time at lvl 20 no problem. Took me 10 minutes. Just carefully wait and walk past any mobs that wander close to the path. If you aggro, set the VW on them and walk on. Simply sacrifice the VW then to continue unscathed. I aggroed one raptor in the entire walk. Once you get to the Thandol Span the first mob you see on the other side is the guy you have to kill. I dont understand what all the fuss is about.

Ok, so I just hit lvl 22 and I am gonna go get the Succubus. I'm new to WoW (the 'lock is the character I play 90% of the time). There seems to be a number of quests to choose from to get the Succubus. Some people seem to think this one is a pain in the a**...
Seriously, they way this quest looks, you need tons on time and some solid experience at solo aggro managment to get through it all. On the other hand, some people say its quick.
Can a humble newb get some commentary as to what some veteran players think is the easiest/quickest/smartest quest to choose? All comments welcome....help!

I think its a brilliant quest. Really tests your skills as an aggro avoider! I got all the way through it with only 1 death, and I have soulstone so who cares. Its about waiting, not just dashing right through and losing durability.

Oh and also, once I had picked up the mob in the Wetlands, I went on to Hammerfall and picked up the flight point so I will be ready later on instead of walking all that way again ^^

Something must have %^&*ed up in wow. I just got to lvl 69 I got all my pets done all warlock quest. But I went to UC for my new spells... and this quest came up... It's yellow to me, hmm wierd

Easily finished this on a level 20 in about 20-30 minutes. Had to sac my VW once in the Highlands when a raptor I didn't notice attacked, but everything else was easily avoided. I don't know why everyone else is complaining - just run through all the zones carefully, and don't run too close to any mobs.

To do this quest quickly you can ask for a high level Warlock to summon you to the locations of Dalin and Comar.

Many Warlocks can do it for you with no problems, but he/she will need two more players to complete the Ritual.

I didn't find this quest too hard, just really annoying that I had to run so far. I ran first to Tarren Mill and got the fp there, then ran through Arathi and killed the quest mob, then up to Hammerfall in Arathi, where I flew back to Tarren Mill. Luckily, I didn't run into Ally players and I sent the voidwalker to attack a couple mobs that would've killed me for sure.

My first lock was ally and leveled a good two years ago.
I didn't mind going through the barrens, it was a long walk, but it was a pretty place and the mobs not high.
This is a lot different tho. Funny as it looks, I have my high level alliance toons helping me get place to place.
I think it is time to move my original horde toons to this server.

Well, this seemed much easier than alliance. I remember having to trek way out to camp T area and then on the way back (or maybe I was sent there again) I went to some warlock summoning area where I was killed by a lot of their pets.

It seemed to take longer too.

This time: From the sepulcher I went to the dalin guy (46, 86)
I think it was close to shadow fang keep area. But is is right below pyrewood village. There will be mobs to contend with before you get to him, or there was for me. They are same
level, but you may have to pull some first.
The second guy was "more alone".
Take the heart.

I walked down to tarren mill and got my flight path.
Began to walk through arathi highlands. (remember your soulstone-keep checking it)
I did have to sac big blue and take off when a dino came after me.
Also be aware of the guards near that keep ( I forget name now)
Keep walking till you hit thandol span.
The moment you get across, look to your right.
There should be a solo guy on a horse, very easy to get him.

There are no other steps other than going back to the UC and the quest person. You give her the hearts and she gives you something similar to begin a summon.
You summon a succy and then kill it. Easy.
You are awarded the spell to summon a succubus.
You'll also receive a 12 slot soul bag.

Having done both ally and horde, I think horde is just easier, and less time.

So, now I have all powerful, most amazing "can't live without"
succubus.
/sigh

She's cute tho! Got my hubby's attention!

(edit) I did have my ally druid follow along and she was a small help.
Could not heal or group, I was never sure she was behind till I looked.
But all in all, I think I would have been fine solo. I was level 20.

I really dont see what the big fuss is about.
I read this and was like oh geez this is gonna be really hard but i had no problem what-so-everr. Dalin is an absoute breeze to find and defeat.
As for Comar I had no problem defeating him either. I did not die once going through Arathi Highlands, my VW did once and that was it.
As for Comar being lvl 22 he's extremely easy to beat as well.
Pretty easy quest as well.
I also had set my hearthstone to go back to UC so I didn't have to run the whole way back as well.

I find it funny that Comar is standing stupidly at a place with nothing but rubble and grass. Its like blizz just dump him there out of nowhere because they didnt know where to put him. And i think the whole quest is a joke, because the whole journey to get to him was hell, but when reach him, he is just another lousy mob.

completed at level 20, without dying. i luckily had some stuff already dead from other players and im on a pve realm.. i had a close encounter with some alliance npc's that guard the road in arathi.. but luckily i got out of the way before they could aggro me.. the only time i started to get attacked was towards the entrance to wetlands. a dinosaur aggroed but i kept running while it attacked my vw and i got my soul shard back from getting far away enough.. the guys themself are easy kill.

This quest actually scales with your level...as of the current patch (3.0.8), it's considered a level 80 quest for me, and awarded 13g23s when I turned it in. Not a bad deal, considering I got my succubus from the Orgrimmar quest chain, ages ago.

I just did this last night, in about 15 minutes at lvl 20. Now that you get your mount at 20 (for cheap, too), getting through Arathi without dying is a breeze. Even if you aggro something, your felsteed is faster than it. Though you should still be careful around the Ally area. There are 3 patrolling horseback guards that I almost ran up the back of (because they are slow, and the felsteed is fast). After I got the guy in the Wetlands, I hearthed back to Tarren Mill, and then I took the bat to UC and turned it in. No sweat at all.

After reading all of the comments I expected this quest to be hard, but I had an easy time of it. Granted, I did wait until level 34 to complete it, waiting for the quest to turn green, then finally accepting that it would stay yellow.
But it would still be really easy for a level 20. I had to go through twice as I fell off a cliff the first time when I got to Comar - long story. The second time I was attacked on the road by a group of level 40+ mobs, and had to use the soulstone but other than that nothing came near the road. And Comar himself was really easy, just a normal level 20, right off of the road.

The quest is even easier now with mount at level 20, but I'll give you a good advice anyway: if your server has high population and you are horde don't do this quest on friday evening. Mobs hasn't been a problem, but I have been ganked twice, tried to be ganked another two times (I managed to escape), and also I crossed roads with like 5 lvl ? alliance more who ignored me. One of the gankages was when I dismounted to renew mi SS so I had to walk a lot (a nice lvl 80, according to his health gave that nice present).

Description

Men of honor and goodness? Does such a man exist?

It took much research, but through bits of overheard stories, I managed to find two men that should do.

The first is Dalin Forgewright, who has dedicated himself to the care of the Lordaeron refugees, whom are refused by their kin at the Greymane Wall.

The other is Comar Villard, a man who remains faithful to his lost love, wandering the Wetlands for a sign of his wife.

Deliver their hearts to Carendin. But first, let me show you your quarry.
