This quest is bugged and is impossible to complete at this time. To get out of the phasing, run away from the area, and at that point you might have to relog.

On receiving the quest Durak will turn you into an Imp. The whole mine starts to shake and rubble falls from the roof. Peons ^&*! themselves with fear and start shaking. As you leave the tunnel you will see that almost everyone in the camp has been killed. Only Draaka and her siege engine are still standing. Your task is to mount one of the two guard towers(74,62 or 72,62) and attack the enemy from there.

Right click on the "Accursed Ore" in your inventory and you will get the targeting graticule, place it over the mob you wish to target and left click. This will launch a piece of accursed ore at the target which is then supposed to enable Draaka to rain death and destruction down upon them.

Still bugged as of 8/11/10. (If anyone is curious - you can launch the ore to your heart's content, but Draaka never fires at your targets).

If you bring up the targeting reticule, walk off the tower (down toward where you put your target) then click as you are falling, run to where it fell, a green flame will appear when you get close if you get there quick enough. A few seconds later, Draaka will yell "Blood and Thunder!" and fire off a fel-bomb.

Repeat as necessary.

Confirmed, working fine. I'm not going to try it, but I wonder what the time and/or distance limit is to keep the imp shapeshift? Playing a druid, I can "shapeshift" but still look like an imp, though the actions bars change properly, as does prowling as a cat. Anybody test this out and see how long you stay an imp if you don't turn in the quest?

It is working fine for me as long as i dont throw it further then the view distance. so if you are having troubles, just increase the view distance.

Isn't that kind of a stupid thing for an orc to say, considering the orcs used to be under demonic control and so many orcs died, fighting to finally get rid of the fel energies in their bodies?

Spoiler Alert

He is a demon, in disguise... Kinda gives him a good reason to expose people to fel magic, so he can, in turn, make them addicted to it again and then enslave them.

Still bugged as of 3/27/11. I killed all of the required mobs. Just as I killed the last one, the quest disappeared from my log but I was still disguised as an imp. I can't even abandon and start over without zoning out.

This quest is working.

Once inside the imp costume, head outside and up a tower and use the item to target the floor under the infernals and night elves. The only downside is the cooldown on the item.

If you port away from the zone and return to complete and find the zone is back to normal, simply abandon the quest, go back into the mine and retake it.

Quest so slow I'm still doing it while typing this. The imp is a shapeshift, so u can't mount, but u can shapeshift while shapeshifted. You just won't shapeshift, but will be able to shapeshift.

While this quest is easy, it's unnecessarily long due to the 15 second cooldown on the item you must use, Accursed Ore. I will never understand why Blizzard likes to put long cooldowns on quest items in situations like this. *Click* *twiddle thumbs* *check facebook* *click* *go to wowhead and complain* *click*...

In unrelated information, it's fantastically fun to fly at 310% speed while appearing as an imp (Druid doing Loremaster). His legs and arms are a blur as he swiftly swims through the air.

8. Npc: Gorka , Quest: Crisis at Splintertree

Bug Warning
The following quest To the Rescue! is bugged (as of the patch this was posted, Patch 4.3.3).

Work around
Follow skarpethinn's intructions in the comments on To the Rescue! . This method has been tested successfully by myself.

9. Npc: Kadrak , Quest: To the Rescue!
10. Npc: Kadrak , Quest: Blood of the Weak

After completing Blood of the Weak , The first quest in this series (Npc: Splintertree Demolisher Splintertree Demolisher , Quest: Playing With Felfire ) will be unlocked.

This quest would have been more fun if I could have completed it without so much spare time that I could come to wowhead in the downtime to complain about how much downtime I have with this stupid 15 second cooldown. A 5 second cooldown would have been a lot more fun.

If you lose your disguise and go to turn in, you can't. I looked all over inside and out. Durak does offer you the disguise again and then it dawned on me that's probably what I have to be wearing to turn in. Bingo.

HELP
i play on a newest patch as pandaren monk and when i do whole quest and back to durak there is no items for doing quest and when i try to click complete i have communicat "You don't meet all requirements for that quest"
i don't know what to do...

If you somehow lose your imp disguise, when you try to use the quest item, it will just keep telling you "requires Splintertree Tower". Speak to Durak inside the mine to reacquire imp disguise and try again.

If you lose your Imp Disguise, return to Durak inside the Splintertree Mine. Tell him that you have lost your disguise and want a new one.

Unnecessarily long cooldown on the item, oddly limiting range for the targeting circle, limited to two places to fire it off from, long pause between using the item and the meteor falling, mobs that run around so much they will probably run out of the meteor effect range before it goes off because of the long pause... This isn't a quest with the greatest design.

You will lose your disguise and ability to throw the meteor (with an annoyingly long cooldown) if you are queued for a dungeon and then come back to finish the quest. You will need to go back inside the cave and see the quest giver Orc to get a new disguise.

Using Accursed Ore to mark targets for Draaka, you are to kill 30 Night Elf troops and 5 Raging Ancients.

Speak with Durak to reapply Imp Disguise.

Description

Just in time, <class>. The elves have launched another attack!

From the guard towers, use the accursed ore to mark targets for Draaka.

Her projectiles will strike your target and erupt in fel magic flame, destroying any nearby enemies.

There is strong prejudice against the use of demonic magics. Unjustified, but real nonetheless. For this reason, I will transform you into an imp for the duration of the mission to prevent you from being identified.
