Just keep heading left as you enter the cave and you'll see it.

I find your coordinates a bit wrong.
I'd say (38,65), so it could be a typo.

It's a "standard WoW-cave" (the ones you see all everywhere in this game), but normally the boss/loot/quest/item would be to the right. In this case, it is, as Xodus59 said, to the left all the time.

yea its at 38,65 and i also picked up "The Essence of Enmity" as you can use that totem on the fireman's in and around the cave

The den of flame is at 38.55 but the Stonemaul Banner is in 38.69 in the cave

Just a strong warning to those who stealth, don't bother. They all have a fire shield which every 3 seconds will deal 30 fire damage to those nearby, which is an absolute killer when you attack one, another 1-2 join in. End up getting hit by 3 fire shield plus the melee of all 3 mobs.

When heading in to the cave stick to the left and proceed with caution and mind the pats!

This quest, and pretty much all of the quests in the Dragonmurk have the potential to prove interesting for fire spec'd mages. Most if not all of the dragonkin mobs have a shield, aura, or some other buff that give them a ~50% damage reduction from fire based spells and attacks.

Located at 38,69 inside the den of flame. If you dont have cords then once you enter the Den of Flame hug the left wall and you should find it.

It looks like a horde flag and is guarded by a scalebane.

While your killing the Firemanes inside the cave be sure to do The Essence of Enmity

its quite easy, go strait in and its in the first little dead end you'll come to. doing this you only have to fight 5, maybe 6 firemanes.

41 druid, didnt have any problems. I stealthed right by, i think as long as you dont attack you're perfectly okay. But i did remember that i needed essences on the way out so i did attack then ;)

Cave entrance at (38, 65).

The Banner you need at (38, 69). The Banner sparkles so it's easy to spot.

When you enter the cave the banner is in the left wing at the end. So...

HUG THE LEFT WALL.

the quest is that you just kill the dragon at 38.1 66.9 in the cave. also it is at the right side of the cave immediately after entering the cave. good luck :)

To get there, exit Mudsprocket, and when the road split, make a turn to the left inside a part of burnt wall and other burnt stuff. Now you will see a bridge, and on the other side is an entrance to the place with some mobs. They do very little damage, i could kill two at a time in melee range as a lvl 40 frost mage. Keep left and you will find the banner.

ok did anyone else have this proble i went to do the last part ofthe quest i turned it in and my banner was gone what is up with that i cant place it for the next part challenge to the blackfight or do i have to do it again for this

DIRECTIONS:

(1) Enter cave in "Den of Flame" at 38.5, 65.9
(2) Bear left in tunnel
(3) Collect banner at 38.1,69.4

To be clear, the banner is hanging up. It is not in the non-clickable box on the ground nearby. :)

and for those of us without coordinates just stay to the left when you enter the cave you'll run right into the banner

Untrue, Quest was collected and completed by me today from Mudsprocket in Dustwallow Marsh. Patch 4.2.0.14333

I completed the quest today. Like an earlier poster said, stay left, and you'll run right into it. At first, I thought it was a chest that wasn't sparkling. I was really frustrated. But it really is a banner on a standard.

This quest (by ID) is indeed deprecated. The new version is Banner of the Stonemaul. The only differences are a slight change to the objective wording, and an increase in reward XP.

This quest is still active as of 2/12/12. Obtained and completed it today. Banner is indeed in the cave.

Description

When the dragons came and took over Brogg's old home, Stonemaul ogres fled and left everything behind, including clan's banner.

Brogg knows banner was kept deep in Stonemaul ogre mound, but these days it's called Den of Flame. Brogg must have clan banner to get his revenge on dragons who killed his friends.

Brogg's clan's old mound, Den of Flame, is northwest of Mudsprocket and crawling with dragonkin. Banner will be deep inside the cave. Be careful, <name>.
