He may have quite a lot of health but he's not too hard to kill. He'll randomly spawn 2 adds ("Summon icy orbs") that deal a lot of damage. No need to waste time killing them tho. They'll disappear quite fast. At around 400k health, Dmong Naruuk will run back to his original position (So no need to worry ;D I was kiting him around when this happened and started to panic a bit :D) and die there.

As a mage still trying to get used to the new 'balance' I got killed so fast it's absurd. From how fast I died, even when I get this new stuff down perfect, I'll still be toast for taking him on. I definitely need a partner or 3 :)

As a level 88 arc mage in ilvl 410 gear, I stood on the dark tree branch and pulled him with Arcane Blast. I popped Mirror Images early on to avoid damage and spammed Arcane Blast. I interrupted his Frostbolt when my Counterspell wasn't on CD. I took out the orbs as fast as possible, and used Temporal Shield when they attacked me.

At about 35%, he inexplicably ran back to his spawn point. I thought I had moved too far from him, but he was taken out by some explosion and died; and the quest was complete.

Well, all I can say is I'm a dk with 290k stamina and he took me down when he was at about 1/2 health. My stamina wasn't going down much at all in the beginning and then all of a sudden I was history. So I think the orbs had a lot to do with it. I EVEN channeled my Army of the Dead near the beginning of the fight who were beating the crap of him. So I think the orbs must have taken me down (or at least mostly since I wasn't paying attention to them).

I just wrote the above comment after dying and decided to go back and try this strategy (have my AoD attacking him while I killed the orbs), but when I went back, there were 3 others fighting so I jumped in and got credit. Yay!

I'm pretty sure when I take my rogue through I'll take some others with me though.

DO NOT SOLO !

It is doable, I was a lvl 89 Marksman Hunter when I attempted it, really important to take the orbs out as soon as they appear as the DoT hurts (alot !), and clear the AOE Blizzard asap as your health just disappears, you need to start moving the instant you spot the Blizzard as its movement impairment means it takes you a lot longer to get out of its radius than you suspect.

In my case a friendly Alliance Pally turned up when he was at about 15%, and between us we finished him off, hit or miss whether I would have done it on my own, but its safe to say if I didn't get the last Blizzard timing right I would have been toast.

Thank you guys so much! My 89 frost mage had been eaten alive by this guy, but using your advice I took him down.

I made it a point to kill the orbs right away. Then I made sure I got out of his AoE circle. I had very little health left afterwards, but I survived.

I was able to take him down solo as an level 89 arms warrior. The first time I faced him I didn't know what I was getting into, and he surprised me by killing me pronto. The second time I went in with Defensive Stance activated, Battle Shout up, and immediately threw down Skull Banner. I interrupted his Frostbolt cast every time I could witn Disrupting Shout, hoping to ward off his Blizzard attack as much as possible. I used Pummel, Disrupting Roar and Mass Spell Reflect when Disrupting Shout was on cooldown. That worked, he did not cast Blizzard at all during my second attack (not so the first time). When he set his orbs on me, I immediately switched to attacking them. He only got me down to 1/2 health the second time. First time he powned me good.

Demonology warlock solo'd him at lvl 88 ilvl 411. I took out the orbs when he spawned them using life drain. Was in Dark Apotheosis form and used fear and life drain to get my health back. Used Wrathguard as the pet.

89 Ass Rogue, this was trivial... the second time. Keep recuperate up, kick the frostbolts and take out the orbs asap.

Just cleared as a lvl 88 combat rogue on 2nd try. Cheap shot and a 5pt SnD. Popped shadow blades + adrenaline rush for a 5 pt Recuperate. After that just burn him down, kick the frostbolts and kill the orbs Immediately. When he casts blizzard run for your life as it drains your health super quick. Once he runs back to his totem the fight is over.

As a BM hunter I tried to get him 3 times using my usual brute force move around and hit em strategy and succeeded in getting killed the first three times. Then I realized it wasn't so simple to solo without some planning. So I first send in my bear pet and hunter marked him, then hit him with a distracting shot that put his attention on my pet not me, I have it glyphed for this. So then I concentrated on taking out the orbs and keeping my pet mended (also glyphed). He was dead in 30 or 40 seconds.

89 Shadow Priest here:

He was pretty easy to take down the 2nd time. I respecced to Body and Soul before i started. Just keep your dots up, take out the orbs with mind blast or flay when they pop up and shield when he starts Blizzard so you can get out of the way easier. With Devouring Plague I ended up at almost full health by the end.

I'm a lvl 88 Blood Elf frost mage, I tried to kill him 3 times, on the 4th time, I took him out, reading the posts help a lot, my stratagem, was to have my water elemental keep him occupied, I would take out the orbs, keep out of the Blizzard, and hit him, with my Frozen Orb, and an occasional Deep Freeze, with Ice Lance, letting my water elemental keep as much aggro as possible, on the 4th. and final attempt, i had about 3/4 health, my health is 217 K and mana is 200 k. I hope this will help any frost mages out there. Average item lvl is 418. total gear score is 10955.

Solo'd as 88 feral druid. Just make sure to take out the orbs, like others said, and keep renewal handy. First time he ran away I thought I'd pulled him too far and lost, so I left. Don't do that, haha. That means you've won!

Solo'd as a level 89 Windwalker Monk. If you go in thinking he's just some non-elite quest objective that you can tank and spank then you will die.

1) Spinning Crane Kick while Icy Orbs are up.
2) Roll out of his Blizzard.
3) Use Expel Harm and Touch of Karma every cooldown.

I came out with half of my health.

Solo'd as 88 Arcane Troll Mage in ilvl 409 gear
Just used all my cooldowns (Arcane Power, Time Warp, Mirror Image, Berserking) at the beginning of the fight and then i kept spamming Arcane Blast, refreshing Nether Tempest when it was about to expire and keeping Ice Barrier up.

Yes, this is a bit of a tricky fight, but you mostly need to know what's coming up.

~ Prepare. Make sure nothing's on cooldown and buff up.
~ Watch for the orbs and take them out asap.
~ Interrupt the Blizzard or get out of the way or shield yourself through it.
~ At 35% health he's done.

As a level 88 prot warrior (410 ilvl) this quest is very easy actually.

1) Make sure you move out of the blizzard
2) As soon as the orbs spawn target and kill them this will give you victory rush
3) Target boss and use your independing victory (if spec otherwize victory rush)

Never came below 85% health on this one. Use cooldowns like a banner to speed up the kill.

Orbs were a real PITA. Also, stay away from the ledge. I fell off of it and had to run all the way back up while he was shooting me with those damn orbs.

On a 90 523 iIvl subtlety rogue he was dead before any blizzard and he got one orb up because I hit my numlock key and ran a little ways down the road. ;)
There was no loot.

Took me 3 attempts as an 89 frost mage. Just stay out of the blizzard (save your blink for that if pos) the first time he cast the two orbs, retaliate by doing the same (frost orb) & that should dispel both whilst proccing your frost fingers to barrage him with.
When 2nd set of orbs pop out, just focus on them, not him, until they're gone. - stay out of the 2nd blizzard if he casts that at same time as well.

Other than that, just club him with whatever you got.
