Spectral Researcher is in library (The Reliquary), that is first room after 4 guards at entrance. There is 7 Researchers in total, in groups of 2-4 mobs. Easy to farm them solo, if you are lvl 70 and need that Formula: Enchant Weapon - Lifestealing

Ok so there has to be something wrong with the stated drop rate. I mean 8% is pretty high as far as farming as a 70 goes, & you can estimate an amount of time within which you'd be likely to find your drop. Now I did Scholo for two hours, & since It's only the first room, I'm talking around 15 times (with resets, of course), & no drop. Surely it's not 8%. Can anyone give me a confirmed statistic please?

With the account limit of 5 instances in an hour it would be pretty tough to hit 15 times in 2 hours unless it was with different accounts. I had to wait for my first timer to drop off to get my last one in as it was taking me about 10 mins to run though killing all in the Reliquary when I was doing my test (my run to Light's Hope to mail some stuff helped kill part of that time).

I started doing it just to get it for my enchanter and had it drop on the last researcher I killed. So I ran it again and had 2 drop. Then seeing your post I thought I would run to get a decent sample.

I ran a total of 10 runs so a total of 70 Spectral Researchers to possibly drop it. In 10 runs I had a total of 7 drops or a 10% drop rate. They broke down like this:

Run 1 - 1
Run 2 - 2
Run 3 - 1
Run 4 - 1
Run 5 - 0
Run 6 - 1
Run 7 - 0
Run 8 - 0
Run 9 - 1
Run 10 - 0

So the odds of you not getting a SINGLE drop in 15 runs is pretty slim. Don't get me wrong, the RNG can be a pain but your luck is TERRIBLE if that is the case :) I mean, after the first 4 runs I did I was starting to think it was a guarunteed drop LOL.

Needed recipe to help with twinking a toon. One run on lvl 63 frost mage -- 2 spectral researchers killed 1 drop of recipe. Note -- no longer need key to enter Scholomance so this is a quicky now.

I don't know if this drop rate is a 100% I just now went in and got it first try.

These no longer appear to spawn. I am holding out hope for Formula: Enchant Weapon - Lifestealing, but for now, I do not believe there are any known, spawned mobs that drop it.
