I met my best friend 3 years ago in the top raiding guild on our server. He was from Australia, and I am from the USA. I thought his accent was amazing and darn near melted everytime he said something on vent! The guild fell apart, everyone transfered factions, took their breaks, and went their seperate ways. 2 years later, I come back to WoW and find that he had just come back to WoW recently too, this time we were both single and the friendship sparked into a relationship. My best friend from Australia is now my boyfriend of 6 months moving to the states, thanks to WoW. <3
Personally, in Wow, I've found a lot of friends. It's bad they're not from my country, but it's still awesome to have someone to talk to. Talking about friendship and games, I can say MMOs are good if you want not only to play, but to create relationships and friends.
Wow (and other games) are not for dating..Bring your loved one to the game, fine..Start your dating via Wow, no thanks.. We're here for a game, not romance..I'm in no way against dating over the net, however, do it on dating-sites and/or chat-rooms.. It's their only purpose, after all..
I've dated a girl I've met in online game for 2.5 years once. Too bad we've broken before, but not because of online games =)And right now I am going to skip my usual raid because of 14th February — oh well.
Three of my very best friends have come into my life because they were in my guild when I started playing WoW. They've listened to me when I've been down, helped me through a breakup, and generally been awesome. Thank you, WoW!
What a sweet feature to have in a game. <3 My current boyfriend of three years and I have been playing WoW together since we met; we even have our own little stories for our toons' relationship. I started attending college in 2010, and now, we're on near opposite sides of the country; for the past year, WoW has been a strong factor in our relationship, letting us have a good time together, even though we're far apart. Just gotta keep telling myself, two more years~
I started talking a lot with a girl on world of warcraft when we started rp'ing together. This day, she is one of my most trusted friends and there might be more between us.
It's allowed me the peace of mind that I can not only go stag-ette on V day but I can do it with a large Hawaiian pizza and a vanilla raid-a-thon without judgement from my wow friends.... and I love how they can join along without judgement from me.
I started playing WOW when I was 12, four years later I met my boyfriend and I got him hooked. We now travel azeroth being pimps and making people jelly that im a hot girl whos good at wow. I Love my boyfriend soo very much I made him this video about his Character for christmashttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1C592qLo4I8&context=C3a81cb9ADOEgsToPDskLa6bHsGSDqU6Vc6qXZVPXc(just google it, "A Very Merry Clexmas")Thats basically our proof that we are teh most pimp gaming couple.
My hubby is the one that introduced me to online gaming. I was skeptical at first, but it's turned out to be something we both really enjoy doing together. It's also enabled me to get to know several of his friends in other states. A lot of his friends are jealous! Here he has this girl who cooks, bakes, lets him go out with the guys once in awhile without fussing, and now plays online games with him and actually enjoys doing it. I usually play the healer, he usually plays the tank. Not only does it allow us to do insane fun things we shouldn't be able to do solo (because we are crazy enough to try!), it makes instancing SO much easier, not having to find the two absolutely-must-have classes.
my girlfriend and i play wow together. We do it just to hang out, and do something entertaining together. We're in the same guild as well, and generally just hang out and have a good time.
My wife hates that i play wow, due to the fact she is alittle older and is less proficient on computers, and only really uses them for facebook. But like i always tell her when she gets on my back about playing, would you rather i go out and spend 10x what i spend on wow in a month on one night out at a bar, that usually backs her down for a while.
Well, it's hurt and it's helped. I play WoW and LOTRO as MMORPGs and it's caused rifts in friendships due to the silliest things. But it also makes use realize that, and ends up making it stronger in the end. I used to play with my best friend, and I got the quietest girl in my Art class to talk to me when we realized that we have gaming in common. I've made many friends in-game too, but with that comes to loss of friends and fighting that shouldn't be.
I'm glad that they want to break a record and all, but RIFT? Ehh, I'm not going to re-subscribe and then have to re-download it to help them, unfortunately. Although good luck to them, I guess.
I was never big on online gaming. Using a keyboard with all its keys and not being very computer savvy was a big change from console games with hand held controllers that I was used to. However, after returning from my years in the service, I was only in contact with only a couple of friends that I used to hang out with. Well, one day my friend came up to me with World of warcraft along with The Burning Crusade expansion and 2 2 month game cards and told me I had no choice. He installed the game for me and spent hours, and hours,.... and hours teaching me how to use the keyboard to play the game. Turns out many of the friends I had were, and still are, playing WoW. Its been four years since then and I've been able to keep in touch, and have lots of fun, with them in Azeroth, and I have these online games to thank for it. Bravo Zulu! And keep up the good work!
I met my boyfriend through World of Warcraft, about bit over 2 years ago. Back then, I had recently joined a new guild and slowly we started to chat with each other. Often only the two of us were online on the small hours. I got a feeling, that he was really addicted to WoW back then, like I was aswell. I didn't know him very well back then, but he seemed a nice person and someone who I could relate to. I had no idea how he even looked like back then. However, it wasn't until a guild meeting IRL on New year's eve that we fell in love with each other. I found out that he was A LOT like me, so I couldn't resist his charm.. After the meeting had ended, we only had few days left to stay together. He had been spending Christmas with his family, who didn't live too far away from the town I lived in. So I decided to drive to there to be few days together with this guy I had just gotten to know from WoW and just met IRL for the first time. A bit of guild drama ensued, and at some point we kinda "ran away" from there. But it all went well in the end. We lived far away from each other, so we naturally spent a lot of time together with our avatars in WoW. It was quite funny to get all blushy and happy just from throwing some HoT's on his avatar.. Eventually I moved in to his place, and we still continue playing WoW and other video games together. :) And we are a good team!If I hadn't ever started playing WoW, I know I wouldn't have met him. Thus I don't regret playing this game at all, even though it has caused me some negligence in other parts of my life!
Im going stag this Valentine's Day. Just haven't found the "one" yet. Plus Im in college and am very busy so I probably wouldn't be able to dedicate myself to a lady anyways. In response to the question though, I really like playing games with friends and making friends in game. When people who have a common interest in games come together, great and fun things can happen. Plus, if you're friend(s) live far away, hanging with them online and ingame is a good way to make the distance not seem as far. Happy V-day everyone!
Me and my Fiancee actually starting dating while playing Vanguard, and I actually asked him out ingame. We have since played TONS of MMOs together, including (but not limited to) WoW, Rift, Swtor, Champions, Star Trek Online, DC Universe, Runes of Magic.... I'm sure there's more, but I can't remember them all. Evie
