Gaming has had a pretty big part in mine and my husband's relationship. I met him online (Not directly from an MMO per se, but a forum related to it). Our relationship has been long-distance, as he lives in the UK and I in the US, so we try to find things we can do online together to "spend time". One of these things is playing WoW together. He got me into the game a month or so after we started dating (As he's played for several years himself), and honestly.. I've been hooked in ever since. We do all sorts of things together, like level alts, do dungeons together, help each other with difficult quests and stuff.. We even get certain professions for the sole purpose of being able to help each other with gear/enchants/gems/etc etc.Being able to do these things together in online games, has definitely kept our relationship going strong despite our situation. We can't be together physically in person just yet (We've met in person plenty of times, just.. we haven't been able to be together permanently due to immigration nonsense), but being able to interact the way we do on WoW and other online games we have played makes it a lot easier to handle. I honestly think things would have been a lot more difficult and stressful for us, had we not been able to have this sort of interaction together considering the distance we have (With us being in different countries and all).Thankfully, we're getting my spouse visa sorted out at the moment, and hope to have me over there this year! I can't wait. :)

Wow made me find two best friends and even one girl friend ( in real life not just wow ) although the relationship with my gf did not last long but it did play a major role in my life its time for blizz to have marriages available in the game as well
Me and my girl friend met on WoW. We were in the same guild and started takling a lot outside of the game. After a few months we met in Colorado on a mountain getaway vacation. It led a few month later to her moving two states to live with me. I have never been happier with anyone in my life.
I met one of my best friends on WoW, we've played together for four years now, always had fun, and six months ago I asked where he lived, he said 'Netherlands' I replied 'So do I' then he asked 'You know 'Dedem'?' and I said 'Yes, I know that place, I live near that town' and that's how, after 3 and a half years of playing I finally knew that great friends on MMO's could live really, really close to you, without you knowing it :D
I think it deepened my relationship with my current gf, neither one of us even knew we both played WoW before we had been dating for 2 weeks and i logged in while she was at my apartment. Im not sure i would've been with her for the whole 2 years now if it wasn't for WoW.
when i met my wife i was reluctant to tell her about how much i gamed, and also what games i played. little did i know that when i brought it up she told me how much she loved playing Diablo I and II and played them till the end. She plays all sorts of games that I do and we camp on the couch and swap back controllers when we are on a console or she also enjoys watching me play new content here in WoW too, im pretty fortunate :)
My brother got me into WoW right after I turned 17. My boyfriend wasn't fond of the time I would spend on it. I ended up flirting with one of my brother's friends quite a bit and nearly left my boyfriend for him, and should have. Instead I quit WoW, slowly; I wasn't happy with the decision either.A year later I started dabbling in free MMOs, nothing stuck, not even the private server WoW. I needed to play with people I knew. When I got my laptop for college I got back into WoW on a new account, and played with my new friends without the boyfriends knowledge. He wasn't happy when he found out. So I left him.My next relationship was with someone who barely played, he actually ended up convincing me to level one of his toons for him! Instead of my own to 70. That didn't last long. I spent time with other people who had played WoW, it became a requirement in my relationships (If you haven't played it I can't date you). And then eventually I met my match, certainly not over WoW but in front of a bar! We talked about things we had done that day, and I mentioned leveling an alt in WoW. He was happy to hear I played, asked me about my main (I played a disc priest at the time, him a prot warrior). I strangely enjoyed healing warrior tanks at that time and gave him a hug/tackle. We hung out all the night and the next day. Two weeks later we started dating and its been a happy two and a half years since. He even transferred off his failing realm to be on mine, and faction changed (which had just come out) to be Alliance with me (cue the gasps of die hard Horde!). We got bored at some point and transferred to be with his friends who had also faction changed but on a different realm. Eventually we all faction changed to Horde, my first time on the red side. I've been enjoying that too ever since.
doesn't wow still have the record for most virgins maintained?
When I started dating my boyfriend, we began to get to know each other through books (like The Wheel of Time) and console games (like Zelda and Final Fantasy) that we both loved. At the time, I wasn't a fan of online gaming at all but he loved WoW and had been playing for years. I had a friend who had been trying for years to get me to play WoW with him but I had no interest in it at all until I saw my boyfriend playing it. Unlike my friend, my boyfriend never tried to force me into playing WoW with him, which is the reason I chose to try it out. He let me experiment playing with his 85's in Orgrimmar and he deleted some of his old characters so that I could make one or two on his account to play with. So I'd play on his account with him for maybe half an hour every few weeks when the mood struck me until I found myself enjoying the game more and more. So finally I decided to give my own account a try and he finally was able to recruit me to play with him after a whole year of dating. He's still so patient with me when I ask him questions about the game and advice on what I should do or where I should go. It's a new experience that I found out I really enjoy and it's so much fun to play together. We've been dating for two years now and I think that our relationship is still going so strongly because he gave me a chance to share in playing an online game he loved without forcing it on me. Online gaming is an important part of our lives because it is something we enjoy playing together :)
Online gaming has allowed me to keep in touch with a couple of my friends, that's about it.
