Okay, first off, it can not be a book, it's registered under software, that in itself is enough proof it will be embedded in some form of game.Secondly, a neutral race is possible, as previously stated, you could choose to gain reputation with either the horde or alliance.Thirdly, I do not think Blizzard would release another class, the only one left is a bard-like class, and I honestly have no idea how they would make that class work, and they would have to increase the character cap per realm to 11, or you would have many players upset that they can not have one of each class (myself would be an example of that.) A patch is a possibility, but if you look at Blizzards calendar, it announces an expansion within the next year, so I don't think they would release a new quest hub race that close to an expansion when they still have stuff to put out for Cataclysm, ie Deathwing. Although I have to admit, right now, a major content patch would be the most likely scenario (assuming it has to do with World of Warcraft), I mean, patches do have titles as well. Gates of Ahn'Qiraj, Rise of the Zandalari, etc.
i always thought the next xpac would be hunting down and killing mal gannis on the plannet Xoroth where he fled to when u defeated him in icecrown, he said he would regain his stregnth, and will all the time that has passes since then, he could be strong enough to be a huge boss
I personally think is more in the line of a new dungeon or set of dungeons like the Zandalarian became between launch and 4.2. This will go perfectly between present-Firelands-raid and the future-Deathwing-raid coming out. Making a whole new area or race or anything like that doesn't ring proper with the Pandaren name on it. Also, there's probably going to be your full set of vanity items inside that people will just go ga-ga over it. Like a white-dressed Pandaren monk pet, especially if it goes into kung-fu training with it's present day counterpart! /drools
To all the people thinking it's gonna be a patch: There hasn't been a patch yet that's been trademarked. It wouldn't make sense for them to all of a sudden start trademarking patch titles, seven years into the game. And as much as I would like an expansion based around the Pandaren (I really liked the idea of them having been killed off and the whole island empty that someone threw out there a few pages back), I don't think we'll see it that way.I honestly get the feeling it'll be a Warcraft related game, but something along the lines of a Facebook game that is in no way World of Warcraft, nor connected.

I took a look at the link to the official documents at the top. Based on what I saw (I didn't see a lot) I think it could very well be a future expansion. Take a look at the phase, "A fee payment in the amount of $650 has been submitted with the application, representing payment for 2 class(es)." and you see what I mean. Not only that, but there are several other things that point to an xpac in there...
I Kinda hope it is a new expansion because Cataclysm didn't have as much as older expansions such as Burning Crusade which was was a huge leap from Classic WOW which means Blizzard has a chance and the time to improve from the latest expansion. I would also like to see a new class..
With all of the world in Chaos it would only make sense that an ancient secret civilization would step forth to help and restore the world to its former glory, especially the pandarians being a civilization of monks and other "Peaceful warriors" they would likley reveal themselves to calm the shattered world and aid in the relief, and if not for those reasons then maby the demons under the command of Sargaras have found pandaria and they are under sige and need aid of the outside world.
Also with the rise of the monks and if the demon scenario was the case then blizzard could then use that as the bases for a class that blizzard has been considering for a while now, the demon hunter, blizzard also said that they would love to do a redemption of Illidan Stormrage at one of the blizzcons, and there is a quest in the maw of the void or what ever the big vortex in Darkshore is called "Writings of the Void", the quest text is listed as "The scrolls are vague and appear to be a piece of a much larger puzzle, but if you are not mistaken, they seem to reveal some of the steps on the path to becoming a demon hunter. The dark oaths and rituals necessary for becoming a demon hunter are frowned on by most of the night elves, so this is likely something they would be very interested in keeping quiet.Ranger Glynda Nal'Shea wil know what to do with these scrolls"And apon completion the npc's recation is foreshadowing the fact that Demon Hunters are likley a future class, "Where did you find these? You haven't shown them to anyone else, have you?I apologize. You took me off guard. Telarius was a very powerful Demon Hunter, but he was slain during a confrontation with the warden, Maeiv, many years ago. You are fortunate that his ghost was only a shade of his former power. I wonder how many have found their way to him in those ruins.I will see to it that these scrolls make their way to the high priestess immediately. Thank you, <name>."
having a hard time finding a video of the section it was in but it was last years blizzcon, because they also mention something about the new legendary quest lines for dragon's wrath, it was the Quests and Lore Q&A section of blizzcon during that session.
Kind of hard to redeem someone who died.....
yes that is true, but think about how many times your character has died, yet hes still there, or how Illidan came into the game to begin with after being killed by arthas in the WC3 expansion.
found the video with the question and answer about the redemption of illidan, its not a specific yes but they do say that they would love to do it, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCcEQAP7tns&feature=related at about 4:45 in to it
