After buying a Cone of Cold, my macro to actually cast the spell Cone of Cold was broken until after I logged out and back in. I did not realize this until I was in a battleground and I died while mashing my Cone of Cold hotkey on the kitty druid who was probably wondering why a frost mage was not freezing him.

Once a Cone of Cold has been placed into your inventory, your Cone of Cold macros may fail as they are attempting to use the item instead of the spell of the same name. We have similar issues with Frozen Orb and Frozen Orb. The solution is to add parentheses at the end of the spell name. This is similar to the syntax used when we used to be able to select the rank of a spell to use. So, the correct macro is:

/use Cone of Cold()

Note: /cast and /use are synonymous.

NOTE: You cannot purchase the Cone of Cold until you have the You Scream, I Scream... quest, it is not immediately activated even though it's "Children's Week."
