Shaman CC : Why don't Shaman's have any form of CC?

Ok, now mostly all classes in WoW have a form of CC/Stun that they can use to their advantage when in a stick situation, or, just to be annoying when in an arena for example. Lets go through all the classes and see if they can stun/cc or not (warstomp from Tauren's will not be discussed in the following):
1) Warrior : fear and mace spec stun
2) Rogue : Stunlock ftl
3) Priest : Fear, silence, stun
4) Paladin : 3-6 sec Stun
5) Warlock : Fear, Deathcoil (instacast, unbreakable fear?!?), Howl of Terror, Succy... so on, so forth
6) Hunter : Concussive Shot, Traps blah blah
7) Druid : quite a few CC methods -> Cyclone (what a load of bull), bash, pounce etc
8) Mage : Dragon's breath, counterspell etc
9) Shaman : nadda... and why is this?????
Why don't Shaman's have even one stun/cc method available to them? What I was thinking, was an addition of a 4th shock, that being a air or wind shock (since currently atm, the Shaman only has 3 available to them) that has 1min cooldown that gives a 3sec stun or something to that effect. That's just a vague idea of giving us at least some form of decent CC method. What do you all think of this? Would be interesting to hear from people who play Shaman's, as well as other classes. Should it not be fair that we have a form of cc/stun avaiable to use as well??

because not all classes were intended to have CC
and the crowd controls you mention are all pretty different in terms of effectivity pve/pvp
and shaman is a hybrid that can do more than one thing at the same time
guess it would be OP
First of all, I was not very clear when addressing this topic. I was refering to PVP/Arena's and the lack of a talent/skill that gives Shaman a stun/cc method. Shaman's are a hybrid class, I do agree. However, within our 3 given talent trees, people usually tend to spec more so into 1 tree and some into maybe 1 other tree or a combo of the other 2. Quite rarely do you find a Shaman that has almost equal distribution of talents spread throughout the 3 different trees. Most classes can take on many different roles depending on their spec, plus they have a stun/cc method of at least one type. If I'm the only one who thinks that Shaman's should recieve a stun/cc method, then I'll be...

You might want to think of this.
with Frostshock and Earthbind totem you simply own a pure melee class with these if u use them right. Kiting ftw.
You can interupt every 6 seconds using Earthshock. Can neglect fear and stuns with Tremmor totem.
You wair mail, mitigating a lot of melee dmg, can heal quite a lot for pretty fast.
Its just wich spec u choose to do pvp with. Elemental has a lot of ways to save himself without CC.
Before tbc, shamans owned everything with earthshock. Now its balanced a bit more. And u actualy have to work for a win.
Don't forget about their grounding totem.
I personally don't think that shammys need a stun. Most just don't use their class to the fullest. (not saying that about you jawanax, just an observation)

Agreed to a point. Shaman's are not easy to master, and it takes quite some time to fully master totems, due to the fact that there are so many totems to choose from, and you have to use the correct combonation of each depending on what class/mob you go up against. Lets not forget as well, there's a global cooldown shared on dropping down totems, which can take up to about 6 seconds to drop one of each type of totem... alot can happen in this time.
With regards to the grounding totem, it is one of the most invaluable totems available to a shammy. It is however on a 15 sec cooldown (which can be specced down to 13 secs) which is quite a while to wait, when refering to an example of being in an arena or in a BG.
I've however heard rumours of a so called Shaman stun/cc talent/skill that will be available in one of the patches to come. Would be interesting to see how or what is intended to be given to Shaman's in this regard.

If they had a shock that would stun for 3 seconds...that means they'd have TWO quick ways on cancelling cast time (with that and Earth Shock). Now if you say that removing the cast-cancel on Earth Shock would balance things out...naw, it would just make Earth Shock useless. And im pretty sure Shammies got alot of snares intead of stuns...

Priests: Psychic Scream can hardly be considered crowd control, considering the spell takes 30 seconds to cool down. If it's resisted, the target is immune or if the intended target(s) avoided it in any way you're screwed for 30 seconds. It's mostly just a desperate "hope to god this works" move.
Silence requires talent points.
Stun? Blackout? Requires talent points. Even then, 10% chance.
The only spell you'd actually consider crowd control would be Shackle Undead.
Following your criteria I'd call Grounding Totem crowd control, because just like Counterspell and Silence it helps you avoid getting hit with spell(s).

The only shamen specs that really need CC are enhancement. unfortunately if you look at most classes making enhancement PvP viable isnt necessarily a priorityconsidering other class specs that are not viable in basically anything.
subtlety rogues
ret paladins
disc priests
all those are perfect examples of specs that ned help in all aspects of the game. others need help with making gearing easier to make them viable (fury warrior and survival hunters come to mind)
plus if you look at 2.3 enhancement is getting a huge PvP boost:
Shamanistic rage will decrease damage taken by 30%
Frost shock no longer on DR
two handed weapons trainable (you should use a 2H for PvP anyways)
they are also talking about adding spelldamage to mental quickness (30% of AP for 3/3)

Weird how you're refering to Concussive shot as CC, and at the same time ignore the Shaman slowing totem.

The difference of a Shaman from other classes is that he is quite powerful both from a ranged position and from a close position.
To give an example:
Warriors are powerful in mele, but nada in ranged, so they need to keep their target close.
Mages/Hunters are powerful in ranged so, they need CC to keep range.
The closest class would be a Druid but ranged or mele changes with their spec (Mele = Feral, Ranged = Boomkin).
I remember my days as a Shaman. Switching from mele to ranged was easy with Frostshock. Gave me a lot of time to cast Chain Lighting. Proper CC would give way much more ability to that, which I think it would be unfair

Shamans not having CC seems to be one of those core restrictions which WoW was built around originally - most classes have something like that. Druids have no spell interrupts for example, Paladins have no ranged nukes, and Warlocks have no snares.
But they seem to have been breaking a few of those constraints in TBC, druid Cyclone is kinda a spell interrupt.

since when are all shamans taurens? and OMG i so pity you poor priests cos you have to spec for your stun that btw wins the game for you when it procs and that little silly useless silence of yours!! go and make easy mode teams with affliction locks dot ppl and kite while i cant cast a single spell due to silence, fear, lock pet silence, blackout... OMG shaman cc OP indeed!
