Just wait 5 minutes. You probably disced and your character is still logged in (often happens on something that's moving). You just have to wait for your character to log out entirely, which takes a couple of minutes.
If it's been a long time, it's one of those rare cases where your character is stuck in the world somewhere. Contact a GM from your alt to have him move your rogue somewhere else.

Did you log off in Dalaran? I've had that happen recently, several times.

Cartographer was having problems. I know a guy in my guild (who uses the addon for all characters) was being prevented from logging into his Priest. He kept getting disconnected, just as you are. He eventually figured out it was Cartographer.
It may not be the same problem for you, you may not even have Cartographer installed, but if you are using any addons, it may be being caused by one of them (even if your alts all work fine).

QuestHelper also causes this problem. If you have it or Cartographer, be sure to turn it off when you login.

i have recently applied an uptade to the character and i don't so i can't log inDo you mean you have initiated a race/faction change or character re-customization? You need to complete those before you can log into the character again. If you don't want to do that, you can contact Blizzard Support to have them cancel it, however, you will not get your money back.
