Usually you get problems like this with logitech mice if you install their (usually substandard) software
probably this, I just don't install their added software and the wow keybinding menu reads the mouse buttons just fine

Logitechs problem is that they usually have awesome hardware and sucky software. More times than not, you'll be better off not using the Logitech software.

I had the same exact mouse for a time until I dropped my laptop and broke the usb thingy that was hanging off the side...
One problem I had was that my computer was constantly failing to recognize the Set-Point software for the mouse provided by Logitech. The software just always seemed buggy for me, and I just gave up using the side buttons in WoW (though it would have been nice, especially as a rogue to put my stuns there ;-P). They sometimes worked as back and foreward on the web, but that was on the days it was being nice to me.

Yes button 4 is usually bound to autorun in the default wow keybinding's menu. make sure to clear it by going to keybinding under the main menu.

I've had one of these for ages, and your right, the buttons don't work with wow, it'll be less painfull to accept that its a awesome mouse with crappy drivers and just use setpoint to bind the buttons to keyboard buttons. Using logical but less used buttons like etc etc, has worked fine with me for ages and means that the mouse buttons work on any game even ones which dont support all the functions.
Wow is alot easier when you have most of your common skills mound to mouse buttons :p
