My friend and I did the RAF leveling and we're both now sixty and in Outland, but I've always wondered about the "Grant A Level" option when I click his portrait.
First off, does it go both ways? And secondly, suppose I level an alt to Lv28, can he immediately bring it up to Lv58?
Would some one please explain this process and any limitations it has for me. That'd be awesome.
Thanks in advance guys.

To answer your questions as simple as possible.
Yes, you and your friend can give each other levels on any of your characters, but not anyone else that isnt linked with your accounts.
If you level an alt to 28, your friend can only grant you another 29 levels and this will get your alt to level 57. Blizzard decided to nerf the amount of levels a character can give to 29 instead of 30 so that you end up at level 58. (A coincidance seeing how you need level 58 to enter the Outlands.)
Edit - Typo

Actualy that is wrong
Only the friend can grant a lvl while it is still listed when you click his name. So you can not do the same thing back.

I have a question about RAF also. My brother and I share a WoW account. We each have a copy of the game on our computers, mine having been downloaded from Blizzard's website. If I wanted to make my own account with him having recruited me, how would that work?

Shame shame, TOA breaker. But that is beside the point.
You should quickly buy your own account; then your brother needs to perform a paid character transfer, moving your character to your account. Make sure to take advantage of the RAF too.

Grant a level will only work from the invited account, to the main. And you have to be next to the person you're granting the level too. Additionally, you can only grant levels to characters below the level of the character you're granting from.
Also, as you've mentioned cross faction trading, I'm going to point out that you also have to be of the same faction to grant levels.

No problem.
I think the new account giving the levels is part of Blizzard's plan to get people to recruit their friends. So that they can get free levels by doing so. :)
