I'm not a pvp junkie by any means, but from doing BG's casually and what not I find Deep Freeze is awesome! It's especially great to use against resto druids (or any healers for that matter) It's of course innefective against other mages as they'll just blink out (unless its on CD, then it works just as well). If you can manage to deep freeze some one and get a shatter combo off on them you're looking at 6-8k damage (depending on your spell power) in a single shot! Use a Fireblast and a insta cast fireball and its game over :)

Right now I'm currently deep frost spec (0/0/61) I picked this spec for a few reasons, I really like the survivability of a frost mage, with this spec I can do BG's casually and have fun, do dailies, and also pump out good dps. I haven't done a lot of raiding yet since the patch (only kara/gruuls/mags) but so far I've been able to out dps full fire and arcane mages with considerably better gear than me, and the ones I dont blow away I can easily keep up with. In a couple pieces of badge gear, some merc pants and h mgt gear, I can easily sustain 1500 dps on a long boss fight.
I like the improved water elemental talent, this makes for minimal down time on you're little friend and also provides mp5 for all people in you're raid (60 mp5 with a 10k mana pool) I haven't ran into a mana problem with this spec either. The improved mage armor glyph is awesome! I did Gruuls the day after the patch came out, It was probably a 5 or 6 minute fight, I never went below 400 mana of my peak mana. In the end, pick a spec you enjoy for you're play style, after all the game is about having fun, not numbers.
