me and my brother want to start an arena team. He is a feral druid and I am a ret paladin. I am wondering how well a team like this is?

A dreamstate and ret pally would be descent, but they are still gimped. A feral druid can't handle any plate wearing toon, and can't kill a resto shammy, so any war combo(those being the majority anyways...) you would get outlasted to no end. You might be able to handle a priest healed team, but that's it, and you have a slim chance at that. It is possible to do ok, maybe getting to 1700 or 1800, but you will cap out very quickly.
Your best bet, get into a 5v5, or find a good ele sham, rogue, or mage for a 3v3. The druid will be better as resto or dreamstate healer. After playing a pally for so long, I recomend against holy for 2v2. 3v3 it works descently, and 5v5 they kick butt(2 healers, and you need a kiting healer for the other), but way gimped in 2v2 imo. Descent with a rogue or lock, and sometimes a war(I got to 1750 with a s3 geared war, but it was rough once we started hitting mana drain teams. It helped that he kept queing knowing those teams were in que...)

Yep, that's why you want dreamstate druid. Boomkin with NS. In 2v2, seeing a trinketed cyclone from the healer is always fun to NS & cyclone em. The pally does great burst dps, and you can always go bash or repent the healer too. With a pally/restokin, I think you could keep a non pally healer cc'd near indefinitely(well, 30 secs or so is more than enough to hold a healer down and destroy his dps. Assuming no resists of course).

IMO, feral druids are gimped for 3 reasons, no heal debuff, no stunlock to make up for their small hits, and no slow to keep their healer out of range of enemy dps. As a holy pally, I can heal against feral dps all day long. I made myself oom trying to burst a feral druid, realized it's not going to happen(after I had him to 5% twice.... =[ ), and switched to staying alive. I had almost no mana, Seal of wisdom, start hitting the druid because he's not doing much damage. FoL to full hp and do this over and over again. I spent 5 minutes doing this until I wasn't watching my seal of wisdom and lost it, making myself oom. He had MORE gear than me. Partial T4/T5 with season gear at the time. If I can do this against him while he's interupting my heals whenever possible, how can he do that against a war or ret pally while I'm healing them? Even with a rogue against him, he doesn't stand a chance. I played a holy/feral combo when I had low gear. The druid did surprisingly well, and it was fun in lower tiers, but we were never really competitive.

I would have to agree with Lightrain on this and say the best bet is not a pure resto druid but a dreamstate druid coupled with a ret pally. I would also agree with him, in opposition to two posters who posted afterwards, that the combo is still then somewhat gimped. I don't think that 1800 is possible - maybe if you're on a really crappy battlegroup.
Also, I'm speaking not just from theory but from experience; I tried this combo a long time ago just for fun when my warlock took a break with my brother, who is a retadin.
The same exact reasons that Lightrain mentions for feral druids also hurts our ret friends - no healing debuff. No slow ability like hamstring to keep a pesky healer close or to keep dps off of your healer (or alternatively, an intercept type ability to close if you get shaken off your target or to quickly assist your healer). Once you get to the point where people have 400+ resil, the team starts to break down because the bursty-ness of the ret paladin is no longer enough to gib a dps while the healer is chain-cc-ed, and his lack of mana efficiency will doom you as well if you're trying to wipe out the healer as the healer will be able to well outlast the paladin's mana pool.
Best bet is to try to add a little help to the pally with a dreamstate druid, but the best teammate for a ret pally at this point is another dps, especially a frost mage or rogue, that can keep people locked down for the pally and that can complement his burst. The successful retadins in 2s that I have seen have all played with frost mages.

I play with a rogue, we are both under geared and roll at about 1550. Not bad for 500 resil between the two of us.... We just don't do enough burst to gib them yet because of our gear(as you mentioned, usually running into higher resil teams). I also run a fun 3v3 ret/hunter/frost mage. It's gimped not having a healer, but it's fun. One mistake will kill the team tho. Focus target, and cc macros to get him are uber for this type of team. I can't wait to be fully geared(probably not any time soon unfortunately...) with this team and see how it goes. We may be shaking this up between our alts, and making a RPM, and ret/hunter/resto druid. Could be fun! =)

Oh Travysh, I'm in complete agreement. Even with the dreamstate druid its not by any means a good combo because the outlast strengths of the druid simply do not mesh at all with the burst down fast or go out of oom nature of the retadin.
And Light - glad to hear of the success man. If you try the ret/hunter/resto combo in 3s, let me know how you do. I've been thinking about playing with my brother again and a RL friend who is a hunter, merely to have some fun by playing together, and I'd be interested to see how y'all do. I think it could be a very fun team. Good luck.

IDK, stun the dps for initial burst. Cyclone the healer, while hitting the dps with DoTs. hopefully you got a trinket out of the cyclone and can NS a second. Repent him after that's done. Bash after that. With this combo, even a war made for surviving this would be dead. A holy pally would be the hardest, but just wait for the DR to die off after he bubbles and trinkets. After 2 cyclones and healer is in repent, cyclone the dps at the end of repent so he can't take heals, wait out the dr on the healer, and cyclone him again to start again, the dps should be well under half hp when the healer is back under cyclone. Then taking out a healer may take a while, but easily possible. Even rogues can't handle this team, bop the restokin if he's taking melee dps. Casters should be easy for this team. Both ret pally and restokin can kite like mad if it gets scary. I don't see the problem with this team. Just need to work out a good strat for killing each class. Lock priest or lock druid would probably be the hardest, but even then, still very possible as long as you keep the pally from getting mana burned/drained.
