Actually, the better idea would be, level to 10 on their own, run him through SFK until he reaches 24, then do SM all the way to 45. The way to get the most possible experience out of this is to try and invite as many other people as you can into the groups for SFK and SM. My friend (mage) does this and has powerleveled five or six alts to 58 (the next step after 45 is Strat I think).

to be honest, why not consider rolling a new toon yerself and only play that toon when you quest with him? As there are 2 of you, the quests and killing will go way way faster, making it a little bit like power leveling and alot more fun for you. Plus you get a new toon alt as a bonus.
Listen to parra :)
Since you have already been there done that the quests will fly by since you know where they are and what to do. Unless you were powerleveled :)

While I won't continue the quote of a quote of a quote chain, I agree with Parra. Two friends and I recently did this with a pally and two druids. We blasted through quests and when we were able to we 3 manned most of the instances from sfk to sm and scholo. We even successfully 3 manned Ramps when we were lvl 60-62. If your friend rolled a high dps class or better yet, a tank class, roll something that can nuke or heal and you guys won't have any problems.
Don't power level him the whole way, cause that just yields a level 70 that has no clue how to play their class and I don't know about everyone else, but my server already has enough of those.

Gnomer wouldnt work, as the lvl reg. for it is 22.
Lies
I suggest he get to lvl 10 on his own, then you spam him thru DM till 15, then SFK till 20, then he lvls to 22, gnomer to 27, RFK(if you want to walk) to 30. ...
This link might help more if you accuracy over opinion.

This is to all of you clueless people out there.
A lvl 10-12 char in Westfall can expect to gain an avg of around 100-115 exp per kill on mobs the same lvl.
If you get a lvl 70 with you, that exp drops to 12 per mob. The only thing you'll get from a Deadmines run thru by a high lvl char is gear that you cannot even use yet. That is the ONLY positive aspect of it. You are much better off finding a person of your lvl, and joining them to quest together. You will gain alot more exp doing the quests.
Power leveling people really does not help them much, if they are new to the game. They cannot learn their class mechanics properly. The only thing they learn is how to loot corpses.
If you really want to help a new friend level up, make a new char and take on the world at their side.
Boosting through instances is for people who are veteran players, making an alt, who already have knowledge of game/char mechanics.
Don't ruin someone's game and learning experience by shoving things at them. There's a reason for the leveling process, it's to learn, explore, and master your characters in different situations.
If you power someone through the game, you'll just end up with a high level, very discouraged player who really doesn't know WTH they are doing.
