Here's a simple guide I found that should help a little bit, and I know you probably know most of it ;D. I myself when in arena or battlegrounds always seem to have problems from feral b/c they're so vercitile. Like one minute they're a tank, next a warrior, and then if they want to surprise you a rogue. In my opinion feral is the best spec for PvP, but i've seen ppl pull off balance before. lol I wouldn't suggest going resto unless you're willing to rely on others 24/7, and they're always the first targeted. Your character should be specd to your liking no one can truly tell you the best spec b/c the best one is the one you're most comfortable with.
Balance Druid
This tree focuses on casting, specifically, harmful spells only. You will get improvements to your nukes and all kinds of fun stuff. The most common druid you will find using this build is what they call the “moonfire spammer n00b”. Moonfire spamming n00bs are hated across all servers. This type of druid does nothing but chase after you spamming their instant cast moonfire spell until either he runs out of mana or you die. It doesn’t take too much skill. Here is a druid build you can start off with to begin leveling with this tree.
Restoration Druid
There isn’t much help you can do in leveling your druid here unless you plan on doing a lot of grouping. Most druids who raid frequently at max level are required by high-end guilds to put their talents heavily into the restoration tree.
Feral Combat Druid
This is the most widely chosen path for druids who wish to level and do PVP. Druids are given a bear form and cat form. The bear form resembles that of a warrior. Some of the abilities and concept of it are the same. You will want strength and stamina gear to raise your attack power and hit points to get the most out of this form. The cat form is just like playing a rogue, most of the abilities you will be able to relate to if you have played a rogue at all. You will want to focus on agility / stamina gear for cat form.

I think that the spec actually varies depending on what you do.
Balance
Boomkins can deal a very high amount of damage if left alone, so they are the best for playing BGs. Also, their ability to shove people off the lumber mill and the flag area in eye of the storm is really cheap. When your target is running away, you can moonfire spam them while reapplying insect swarm until they die. If you invest in the shooting stars talent, you can use an instant starsurge while chasing them as well, causing them to die quickly.
Feral
Feral combat druids are great for arena, due to their very OP dots. It is probably the most chosen PVP spec for druids, at least for arena of course. They can survive arena because of a few abilities. Their maim and skull bash is great to stop targets from casting a heal/deadly spell. When you find your health getting low, there is a great macro you can use when in bear form to stay alive while your healer heals you. Even if there is not a healer, this macro can keep you up, even when 3 are attacking you.
/cast barkskin
/cast survival instincts
/cast frenzied regeneration
/use Ruthless gladiator's emblem of tenacity (if you have one)
Note that when in a bg, or the world, you can sew an earthen potion or healing potion onto this macro.
Restoration
Resto druids are great for arena, IMO. They are very hard to mana burn because they can run LOS while their overtime heals are on. This gives them the ability to use travel form while in the fight. Also, they have a very low mana cost on their moves, making it easy to heal when OOM. They are the one healer that can stealth while moving. They also have cyclone, an annoying ability that is very easy for them to cast. All specs get cyclone, but Resto can do it the best. Boomkins are somewhat easy if nothing is on them, however, feral can have a hard time using this because they have to leave their form. Lastly, their tree form, although nerfed from what it once was, is still very obnoxious when used. It can either be used to save your team from dying, or it can be used to DPS and finish the match ( Don't forget to heal your team, of course)
I hope this helps, good luck. :)(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##asakawa##DELIM##First thing is please use bold and underline text sparingly. It looks like you just got a bit muddled with opening and closing tags so I've fixed it but it's worth checking the preview before posting to make sure it looks right (or editing after posting if something slips through).
It's always nice to see people with an urge to help other, I definitely don't want to discourage that. I would ask you, though, to always be aware of the age of a thread before you post to it. A thread like this discussing talent specs will unavoidably contain information (from 2008) that is irrelevant to the current game or outright misleading to those reading it.
Thanks.
