Hey guys, this is my first post here and I'm doing it because I'm worried about my dps
I'm pulling (at the beggining of a fight, bloodlust and all my cooldowns) somewhere around 70 -80k, but at the end of a fight I can barely manage to pull 60k, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, I've read on several places guides and I'm doing it well, I replaced now some talents (Dire Beast for Thrill of The Hunt) and tried it on a dummie and still cant pull what I consider high dps, My gear isnt the best at all, I have planned to upgrade it when the raids from Raid Finder reset, yet still, I dont feel like that should make a big difference, any help you guys could give me? >.< thanks
Here's my armory :

PS, I've gemmed most of my gear, missing one piece, it just hasnt upgraded yet, thanks!

According to Zehera's simulator <
http://www.femaledwarf.com/>
your max simulated DPS should be around 90k, so doing around 60k on a random boss should not be terrible.
The things I'd suggest you to do to improve it, altough it'll not do it in a huge way, is:
Gem for Agility, always, even when you miss the bonus of the gemming.
Reforge using the recommended stat weights for you, according to Ask Mr.Robot <
http://www.askmrrobot.com/wow/gear/usa/hyjal/tizyann>
.
Get your professions maxed, and enchant your gear accordingly.
Try to follow some basic instructions on your priority shots, using guides like Noxxic* <
http://www.noxxic.com/wow/pve/hunter/beast-mastery>
or Icy Veins* <
http://www.icy-veins.com/beast-mastery-hunter-wow-pve-dps-guide>
.
This changes and tips must close the gap between your theoretic and your actual DPS. Good hunting!
*I'm assuming you're specced into Beast Mastery, since that's what showing on your armory link.

Damage output is tied to the context of the encounter, things that have to be considered are which raid, what boss, what raid size, in what group setup, how fast did you kill the boss, how good is your group, what special jobs do you have, what tactic are you using, etc etc. Also a lot of our damage is tied to our weapon. So when you upgrade that 463 gun you are really going to see a jump.
Finally, I am not an expert of ilvl to dps, but pulling 60K with ilvl 491 is prettty good.

Depends on a bonus really. If its agility its worth pursuing. If its haste, not at all.
From my perspective gems, reforges (besides caps), proffesions are a very tiny factor of your dps. Sure they increase your dps by certain percentage, but not that much.
There are much more important factors:
how you play - how good you are at executing your abilities, do you ever get focus starved or focus capped, how you plan ahead, how many mistakes you do and how you work under stress
how good you know the encounter - timers and stuff, nothing should be a suprise for you, you need to have stuff planned ahead - that includes target switching, movement, interrupts
how dedicated you are to constantly improve - many people dont care for anything but shiny loot
Finally, I am not an expert of ilvl to dps, but pulling 60K with ilvl 491 is prettty good.
Terrible. Bm can do that much in full hc gear (dungeon blues). Guy is doing 66% of his potential dps and you are giving him tap on the back?
As for talent choices: Thrill of the hunt is ok if you have 2pc tier (not that tier you got now, not even the next one, the second next one), but since you dont Dire beast is better. In general i find TotH lackluster for BM because i never ever lack Focus. Dire beast grants less focus but gives you its damage (7ish % if used on cd).
Same with spirit bond, its ok for pvp, but for pve Dragonhawk is better. Preventing some damage may save your life, healing 2% every couple of seconds will likely be an overheal.
PS: Upgrade that bow to 471.

I am MM, specced into BM with the spirit bond to solo some old content, sorry! and thanks for your reply!

I am asuming its the bow since none of my shots hit for more than 150k, chimera shot once critted for 200k and that was it, steady shot does roughly 20k damage each hit, arcane shot when used to dump focus hits for 15k, chimera shot often hits for 100k, and thats it, crits for 150k, and aimed shot does 110k, I am not the best, but I did some research about hunters in MoP and I do everything the guides recommend to do, so thats why I decided to make a thread :P maybe I'm still wrong at something
I'll try dire beast again, but I'm a MM hunter, I'm not specced into Spirit Bond, only using it because I did some old content and welp, it works better, thanks again!

Well, I personally think its bad, I appreciate your comment a lot but, when it comes to this sort of things, I'm kinda competitive :P I want to be the best lol, I am thinking the same actually, the weapon is a big issue, when I use all my cooldowns, I can pull a nice burst of 100k dps, with buffs and all, thanks a lot!(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##ElhonnaDS##DELIM##Please do not double or triple post. If you are MM its not only the bow, but it pulls you down more than if you waere BM/SV.
since none of my shots hit for more than 150k, chimera shot once critted for 200k and that was it, steady shot does roughly 20k damage each hit, arcane shot when used to dump focus hits for 15k, chimera shot often hits for 100k, and thats it, crits for 150k, and aimed shot does 110k
Dont look at single shots damage, it means nothing.
I am not the best, but I did some research about hunters in MoP and I do everything the guides recommend to do, so thats why I decided to make a thread :P maybe I'm still wrong at something
The chosen spec. Its most weapon dependant of all three. It does significantly worse at low levels of gear and its most complicated both rotationwise and UI/trackingwise.
Here is similar topic or two:

Frankly even if you are not BM Dire beast offers you more dps gain than TotH. I personally dont like a Murder of Crows at all - its cd doesnt line with anything (and the shortened cd is usable at the cost of not full duration usually) and it costs focus (quite a lot if you arent BM). It adds even more complexity to already complex spec (MM). I'd pick Blink strikes, the damage is close to aMoC used every cd and its passive and free. The only difference is that it doesnt show separately on your dps meter so you cant "measure" it so easily.

I'd advice you to go BM and try it for a while, at least until you get a nice weapon (something around your overall ilvl). BM is much less forgiving than MM if you miss a priority shot and much less weapon dependant.
With that in mind, focus on using your hard-hitting abilities every time they're off cooldown, except if you're seeing they're lining up for a combo (like, using rapid fire with stampede, bestial wrath with kill command, etc...).
After you get a 500ish weapon, then you go back to MM, do your reforges accordingly and try again.
Good luck.

No point in lining up anything atm. Stampede is purely cosmetic atm. As for Kill command and bestial wrath no point in delaying anything either, you will have 2 guaranteed Kill commands within the duration of Bestial Wrath no matter how you do it. I have them macroed together with a mod:
#showtooltip kill command
/startattack
/use call pet 3
/petattack
/use 10
/use bestial wrath
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()
/use kill command
Here is a whole topic with my macros if you are interested:
http://www.wowhead.com/forums&topic=223558/relying-on-this-good-ol-forums-kindness
Only thing you need to remember as BM is to dump all focus before Rapid fire and pool some focus before Bestial wrath (and dont get capped with Focus fire). Thats all. Clearly if Rapid fire and bestial line up you dont pool focus.
After you get a 500ish weapon, then you go back to MM, do your reforges accordingly and try again.
Good luck.
Reforges dont matter if he is still learning to play.

Just posted it there because he said he wants be "the best", so you should be able to do something as simple as reforging. No big deal.

There is no point in min-maxing the gear if he is getting upgrades left and right (and at this gear stage he is). Just get caps, thats it.
