So, my friend suggested that I create a Priest.
So far, it seems pretty fun. I get to level 15 and my friend highly suggest being the healer. I have been playing wow for almost a year now, but never have I been a healer in dungeons, only tank and damage.
Never have I even bother to. I know, the main concept of healers, keep your team alive. But really, I have no idea how to play the role as a healer.
Really, all I need are some tips and tricks on how to be the best healer I can be from level 15 and so forth.
Thanks.

Tip 1: Use key-bindings on your action bars. Having to click actions with the mouse is too slow.
Tip 2: Use mouse-over macros in place of regular spells on your action bars so you don't have to select your targets to heal them.
Tip 3: Add @focus to your mouse-over macros, and focus your group's tank, so that your heals will go to the tank if you're not pointing at anyone else.
Tip 4: Read the quick PvE guide for your class and specialization on
Noxxic
, particularly the part on rotation.
Tip 5: When you want to put more effort into it, read the very detailed guides at
Icy Veins
.
Example mouse-over macro:
#showtooltip
/cast Heal
Replace “Heal” with the name of whichever spell you are creating the macro for.

Mouseover macros are definitely much easier, accurate, and faster than clicking or hitting keyboard buttons. That said, there is an even easier way:
Clique
. Bind any spell in your spell book and click-cast on unit frames.
There are three main advantages to using Clique over macros:
Free up action bar slots. Unless you want spells there for them to default to landing on you, you could otherwise safely remove all your healing spells if you so wished.
You don't need complicated macros, which you may have to be looking up online, or asking about on forums. Not that asking for help isn't bad; that's why forums exist, but still...
Clique allows multiple modifier keys, along with all the mouse buttons, in any combination. For example, Ctrl-left click Flash Heal, Ctrl-middle click Renew, and Ctrl-right click Greater Heal, Alt-click Power Word: Shield, Ctrl-Alt-click Dispel Magic, etc and so on.
