There are no rules in wow since the introduction of LFR ect , everyone just does there own thing now and if you try to tell anyone any different you're called an elitist, tanks have lost group control, no one cares about other people anymore. everyone says its ok to bugger up in LFR but as soon as you do you wil get kicked. wow will never be like it used to be wher eyou would show your fellow players a little respect.

Mind you, I have Horde and Alliance 90 level hunter toons.
Just wanted to preface this with that information. That said... I believe tames are a frustrating/gray area. We don't have all the information - OP just says "it finally spawned for me and then an alliance hunter killed it" but we have no real knowledge of the scenario. The alliance hunter could very well have been thinking "I have been camping this forever and now some horde hunter is trying to steal the tame!"
They
shouldn't
have killed it, IMO, but there's room for understanding their frustration if they were also camping. Besides that, it was always an "unspoken" thing. I've seen it broken many times (on BOTH factions, sometimes by hunters of the same, sometimes of opposite faction). I personally don't believe LFR has anything to do with it. I have played a Hunter since Vanilla and I have seen great examples of behavior and bad examples of behavior, unfortunately.

I saw him questing in the zone he had just hit high enough to quest there

There is no honour among hunters; if someone can screw you over, be it another hunter or a random player, they will do so. They don't care anymore....then again, they didn't care all that much in Vanilla either.

No respect what so ever... i was camping for Ghost crawler for ages and the first time the npc scan alerted me ive found the little creature, i started taming it only getting my pet killed by a horde hunter... and i got more stories like this
so respect is out the window... i think the timeless isle even made respect between players more of a forgotten idea with all those bloody coins farming but that's just my point of view....

No, that would just be PVP in general.

there are no written rules, just unspoken ones by more honorable players.
but there are enough people running around who do not know/care for the unspoken rules of conduct and just do as they please no matter the harm/annoyance they cause for others.
you bumped into someone of the 2nd group, sucks that happend.
but you got too learn to deal with it, since you can't avoid these people in a MMO.

Yea i was taming gumi but i couldn't get it, so a friend was coming an alliance tried to get it, then it escalated and it was like 20v20 because we were just killing each other and i finally got the pet so i got a porcupine now yea!

I wish rare hunter pets had some kind of "taming game" between both hunters that are trying to do it, like:
Pet becames unkillable as long as a Hunter is taming it.
Both Hunters trying to tame the pet are instantly put on a duel situation.
As long as the duel goes, the pet stands still and waits for the resolution of it, remaining unkillable (and untauntable).
The winner of the duel gets the chance to keep taming it (following up the remaining time of the previous tame), until another Hunter comes and challenges him again.
How cool would that be?

Way too easy to grief, as hunters would just stand around and constantly force duels to keep people from having a chance to tame.

Way harder to grief than as it is now, imo.

Not really. A constant duel thing would be far more annoying then another hunter coming along and killing the tame. Plus you would have hunters sitting there for the sole purpose of forcing other hunters into the duel.

Well, I can see that being annoying, of course, but at least you won't have to see your Loque getting one-shotted by a level 90 and 60 hours of camping going south...
Of course, there would be needing some tunning to avoid extra ganking, but then, I think the average wow ganker/troll would always find a way to be specially anoying, right?

Of course.

The basic idea of making the pet unkillable/untauntable by another player, while in the process of being tamed, is a good one. Send that to Blizz and see what they say...

They will say no way. Heck, they already said that multiple times. It not like taming is out since yesterday. You may think that more constrains make mean behaviour harder, while in fact its other way round - more constraints equals more tools for trolling.

LFR has nothing to do with this situation. LFR is not a new concept people have been building random pug groups since vanilla. The only thing LFR does is cut out the need to sit in the trade channel to build a group.
