Fastest class at killing 1-3 mobs with least down time

I thought I enjoyed playing classes that could slowly mow down big groups of mobs and come out relatively unscathed(Pro Paladin, Affliction warlock). But I recently tried a combat rogue and was in love with the play style till I hit the mid 30s and now seem to be taking more damage than I was before. In the early levels I could just keep moving and killing with no resting or eating or anything. Now I can only kill 305 mobs before I have to eat. It may just be a slump in the leveling, but it got me looking at other classes with similar play style. I heard wind walker monk was similar and I had a bremaster at 54 that I duel speced to windwalker. It seems alright, but I am not sure if I have the rotation right or something. I t feels clunky. But I am not good and switching specs at that level. I need to play a spec and learn as I go, not just jump right into it.
I heard enhancement shaman was pretty fun and quick killing, but through the first 20 levels its felt slow compared to the rogue. I have always been an altaholic, and I really wanted to pick a main to level to 90, but I am struggling with the choice. Maybe I just need to keep pushing through on the rogue and see what happens. But I am wondering what other options I have?

Brewmaster Monks, Blood or Unholy DK's, Arms/Prot warriors, Elemental Shamans, Demon and Destro Warlocks, Shadow Priests surprisingly; you've got a lot of choices and it's just a matter of testing them.

A true altoholic should have a good understanding of classes and how efficient they are to level.
As stated above there are numerous choices, many classes have outstanding AoE and depending on gear levels (specifically Looms) are an absolute breeze to level due to the awesome stopping power they possess.
I don't know why you perceive a Prot Pally as slow, from my personal experience they are probably as quick as any class.
Rogues at lvl 45 you get
Leeching Poison
which will increase your uptime on mobs, so you should probably wait till then before deciding to throw in the towel.
Ibut I am not sure if I have the rotation right or something.
This could be your problem, if you don't know what you are doing it will significantly effect your efficiency.
There are plenty of guides available and really it's not that hard to pick up any class and play them right, especially leveling as you will have less mechanics and less abilities to work with early on eventually introduced to your main abilities.

I get bored with classes and switch to another and never get many of them to high level. And generally I take a break from the game for a while at points. And I am a casual gamer, plus the game changes, I mean all classes are faster to level now then they have been in the past.
When I said the prot pally was slow I meant he kills 1 mob much slower than a rogue kills 1 mob, which may not be true 1 a single pull, but once avengers shield is on cooldown, the pally kills slower for sure. But again he can kill multiple mobs at one time to make up for it. The problem I ran in to with him is that I wasn't able to round out quite as many mobs as I remember doing in the past. Therefore he still seemed to kill slower than my rogue killing 1 after another after another.
Leeching poison sounds helpful, so I will keep plugging along with the rogue and see how it goes.I don't have that glyph yet. Most glyphs in the AH are pretty expensive for me right now. But that one may be worth it, so I will check it out.
I looked up the rotation for the windwalker on icy vein and noxxic, so I think I am doing it right. I just thought it was supposed to kill pretty quick, and it takes quite a bit longer than my rogue did. The monk is about 20 levels higher than the rogue though.

hmmmm
Brewmaster Monks, Blood or Unholy DK's, Arms/Prot warriors, Elemental Shamans
Brewmaster Monks, Blood or Unholy DK's
Blood or Unholy DK's
o_O sorry man but you just named the two that are the slowest specs of DKs.
During the lower levels (60 to 80) blood hits so ridiculously hard its the only real choice, but after 83+ the scaling stops being in favor of blood and it starts to slow down. By 87, blood is pretty slow compared to the other two specs.
As for the other two specs, Unholy is capable of just as much DPS as frost but unholy excels at SUSTAINED damage via the dots, and multiple smaller hits, whereas frost excels at BURST damage via huge crits due to Killer Machine procs.
So no, Blood and Unholy DKs are not really "The fastest" at killing 3 mobs, there's tons of other classes and specs that do it faster. Frost on the other hand is one of the best specs in the game to mow down mobs one after the other with practically no downtime. They crit big time every 3 seconds thanks to KM procs (Which give your next Obliterate or Frost Strike a 100% chance to crit) which ensures you killing mobs quickly, and they have almost no downtime if you take the glyph of Dark Succor, which makes your next Death Strike free and heal you for 20% of your life every time you kill a mob that gives exp.
between that healing, and the big crits, Frost is the fastest one to burn down mobs one after the other.
While blood is more of a battle of attrition, they are slower but absolutely NOTHING can kill you. Blood may as well be renamed Immortal Spec, because frankly you wont die to mobs unless you want to die, you simply kill mobs by outlasting them in life.
And unholy is better at slowly wittling mobs down with diseases.
I heard enhancement shaman was pretty fun and quick killing, but through the first 20 levels its felt slow compared to the rogue.
That's because Enhancement Shamans are very incomplete at the earlier levels. They're only really complete once they go past 50 and after that they're a blast to play. Windfury procs make short notice of most mobs (Allowing you to oneshot almost everything) and Maelstrom Weapon procs will keep you up if you use them for healing. In a pinch you can always pop feral spirit and watch your HP go from near empty to full in 5 seconds.

Hence why I mentioned them; he asked about classes that can kill large groups after all heh.

Don't choose a class based on level 35; you spend a percent at 35 compared to 90. Stick to Rogue; they're a fun class.

Hit trade chat and a decent scribe will make it for you.
All you need is a stack of Northrend herbs. And then find a scribe who has learned the glyph. (If your server is anything like mine, even with a generous tip you'll save around 200g.
Frost is the fastest one to burn down mobs one after the other.

A good point for those last few levels, but as you said Blood hits like a freaking Juggernaut until you hit mid 80's, but it more than makes up for it's minor shortcomings by being a faceroll tanking spec that pretty much allows you to cut a huge chunk of time out of a dungeon queue.
Which to me makes it a more viable spec for out and out XP gain.
So, basically yes Blood is slightly slower for those last few levels, but much faster if you choose to level via dungeons.

No he didn't, he asked which classes are the fastest at killing groups of 1-3 mobs (which is a small group in my book).

No one's mention Hunter yet?
They kill so quickly and have so little down time it's ridiculous.

There really is not that much of a difference, you just have to glyph/talent in order to accommodate each classes weakness. Rogues have leaching poison and can also burn off combo points on their dead targets to heal, not to mention basically making each mob stunned for half the time it takes to kill them.
What happens, especially with rogues is that bad players get so focused on max dps, that they end up costing themselves time while fighting mobs. You have two heals, an interrupt and the ability to keep your target stunned for half the fight. If you are having to bandage, it is because you are doing nothing but 112112
