So i want to tell you about my latest blizzard experience
I dont have an active guild and like any other player i want my characters to be well equipped
so i went to the black market and saw an heroic plate item for 20 k so i bid on it.. little did i know that this will be like throwing 20 k down the drain...
My main is a hunter and he has all the money so i just bid on the item and told my self when ill win ill mail this plate gear to my DK. I only assumed that it works like the regular auction house..
So i won the item i was excited but when i came to send it to my ALT DK the item became soul bound!
You can iagine how i felt! so i rushed and sent ticket saying that i made a mistake and i didnt know that it will come soulbound and pls help me and send it to my alt this was i got
I'm very sorry to hear about this, but we are unable to assist with any accidental purchases on the auction house, be it the player seeded one of the black market.
I know it's not what you want to hear right now, but you'll simply have to be more careful in the future and make sure you always double check characters, items and lthe like before you spend your hard earned gold.
That said, gold comes and goes and I'm sure you'll be able to replenish your wallet over time :)
wow! really? thats your answer?
i pay a monthly fee to play this game and i bought all the exp packs and i cant even get a decent service! how can i know this item will soul bound to me?
this is the stuff that just makes me wanna close my account i worked hard for getting 20 k and now they are lost!
im sure thast if they had problem with my money they will close my game time
but to help me for making an honest mistake just bcuz wow let u figure out game rules on your own.. now thats just playing dumb!

Binds when picked up
Read up on the
Black Market Auction House
, it's not a regular AH.
If it's any consolation, people have lost way more gold while totally being aware of it, the
Unclaimed Black Market Container
is basically a high-stakes lottery. My druid main once dropped 17K on one to receive
Plagueheart Bindings
- not even a visual piece of that set to wear around cities, no, bracers...

Not a rip off at all -all gear on the BMAH is BoP -says so right on the item .
Rules of the BMAH are clear and have been posted on the forums so really you have nothing to complain about .
And the GM is right , 20k is nothing. Couple of weeks of just playing the game and you will have it back.
Also what server are you on -if heroic gear is going for as little as 20k I think I will server transfer there -I bought heroic boots for my hunter the other day and thought I got a bargain at 105k .

The item said binds on pickup. You picked it up, and it was thus soulbound. Sounds about right.
You can iagine how i felt!
I'm imagining you felt like you made a mistake and intend to learn from it to act more carefully in the future, am I right?
i pay a monthly fee to play this game and i bought all the exp packs and i cant even get a decent service!
Oh. Nope. You felt like you made a mistake and thus are entitled to have it fixed. Figures. In case you haven't figured it out yet, you pay a monthly fee so you can log in. You bought the expansion packs so you could log in and enjoy new content available only to those expansion packs. Buying expansion packs and game time does not entitle you to getting whatever you want whenever you want it, however, any more than buying a lottery ticket entitles you to the prize.
how can i know this item will soul bound to me?
In the same way that you knew they were plate -- reading the text on the item tells you it will soulbind to you, namely on pickup.
this is the stuff that just makes me wanna close my account i worked hard for getting 20 k and now they are lost!
What makes you want to close your account? You making a mistake? If you were hammering a nail and accidentally hit your thumb, is it Home Depot's fault for selling you a faulty hammer? Would you log on saying "I pay big bucks for hammers and nails from Home Depot, and this is the service I get!" Is that the "kind of stuff" that would make you forever boycott carpentry projects?
im sure thast if they had problem with my money they will close my game time
but to help me for making an honest mistake just bcuz wow let u figure out game rules on your own.. now thats just playing dumb!
This doesn't make sense. However, a game allowing you to "figure out the rules on your own" (in reference to well-established rules some 8-years old...) is nothing new. It's also the only way to figure them out. Unless you're the kind of guy who read the 600 page Instruction Manual for a computer, I'm sure you turned it on and just "figured it all out" on your own.
Likewise, you played WoW without an instruction manual and have gotten along fine. I'm sure you understand the concept of BoE vs BoP, so I'm sure if someone told you "Hey, that item is BoP" you wouldn't have bid on it on your Hunter. You knew what BoP was. This wasn't an honest mistake due to ambiguity -- this was you being too lazy or uninterested to actually read the text on the item on the BMAH. Had you, you would have seen it was BoP and ensured to bid on it on the correct toon.
As others have posted, 20k is basically nothing. Even to a newer player, you will earn 20k back before you know it. Assuming you've actually dumped any amount of money into the game on expansion packs/time cards (ie, have not started in the past 2 months), quitting over losing 20k would be akin to a baseball player quitting because he struck out once.
Learn from your mistakes and be smarter next time. Don't be the guy who makes a mistake and decides that his correct course of action is to quit the game or threaten Blizzard with his "my money spends" crap. There are already far too many on the forums.

I highly doubt you got any money back over this situation. I suppose MAYBE if your subscription had just cycled and you cancelled it they might... but because of this situation?
And if by money you're referring to gold then that's even less likely.
I'm not locking this thread at this point but if further conversation happens please remember to be civil. Thank you.

Actually, if you took the time to read the EULA and the TOS, the $15 a month you spend is to access their servers (Log in as you so eloquently put it.) Saying you pay that $15 a month to "get service" is like saying you pay your water bill for the customer service, and not for the ability to use the city water.
plus i got my money back so %^&*!ing worked
The 8 year WoW playing in me calls shenanigans. Have to agree with Sas and say the only way you received money back was to have this all happen the day your bank was charged for a new month. And as for getting the gold back (If that is what you mean), you said the GM told you that you were S.O.L. in your original post.
All that being said, don't blame Blizzard and WoW for
YOUR
inability to take the time to read an items full information before bidding on it. It isn't their fault you don't/didn't understand what BIND ON PICKUP means. (No, it doesn't refer to your daddy's Ferd Fteenthousand)

As the others say: Make sure to read before you bid, since the BMAH auctions are set up by the server and not players, which is why the actual armour is BoP.

That was a wonderful poem.
I'm glad you got your gold back, but next time it won't happen. You should have read the tool tips more carefully; if there's something you want, send the gold to another character, log into it, and bid on said item.

Some of these responses read like trade chat about how he should research online before doing something. This is a game, crucial information should be in the game. He shouldn't have to visit a website to understand how the Black Market works, it should have a clear warning the first time he visits it on a toon.
This is a game, not a job.

Well, to be fair, the items are all labelled as "Binds when picked up" (
example
) which is a concept/system in which the game trains people pretty early. The important info really
is
there in game.
Personally, I'm very sympathetic for someone who has made an honest mistake and one can certainly understand a level of frustration. However, I disagree that this is a customer service issue or something that players should
expect
to be fixed as part of their subscription. Where the responsibility lies for the mistake is clear so the expectation that things should work as if that responsibility lay elsewhere is an odd one.
One imagines that it's this unrealistic expectation and indignation on show from the OP that is causing the backlash rather than the initial mistake itself. As ever in life, you get out what you put in and putting in anger and indignation will rarely garner sympathy or selfless assistance from one's peers.(##RESPBREAK##)16##DELIM##asakawa##DELIM##

Truest statement ever. When you mouse over the items in the auction house it tells you whether the item is BOP, BOE, or BOA. If you've leveled just one toon you've had hundreds of opportunities to learn about it. It's an integral part of the game. It's not something a person should need to research to figure out but I suppose there are exceptions to everything. Grats on getting your imaginary money back, OP.

Maorel, I hope you have learned your lesson and in the future will read in-game text more carefully.
The bottom line is, though, that you made a mistake and Blizzard had no obligation to correct it. The fault lies entirely with you.

Lordplatypus
You didn't read the fine print on something before you bought it.
It happens in real life too, it's your own damn fault and now your short 20k.
Boo hoo, just farm it back and next time, make sure you know what the hell you're buying before you buy it.(##RESPBREAK##)2060##DELIM##Sas148##DELIM##Stop... being... so... condescending!
