hi, I seem to be having trouble with my protection pally at the moment, my dps seems to be really low for my ilvl, I know that protection isn't built for dps but to me I still seems far too low. I did the first four bosses of ToT the other day and was only pulling about 35k dps. can someone please give me some advice as to what I can do to get this figure up or if this is normal. below is a link to me character sheet

thanks

You have absolutely zero haste. None.
Your stat priority should be something along the lines of Hit (7.5%) = Expertise (15%) > Haste > Mastery > Strength > Parry > Dodge, taking as much stamina as you feel you need to be comfortable. Glyphing Hammer of the Righteous is largely a huge waste of a glyph slot. Crusader Strike provides the same debuff, and you should never have a time where the debuff is at risk of falling off anyways. Dazing shield is likewise almost completely wasted in PvE. Pick up Focused Shield there for single target fights. Glyph of Word of Glory is a decent pickup in place of the Hammer of the Rigtheous glyph if you want damage.

just wondering...were you suggesting to use a straight gems or split gems for strength? Don't we get enough strength from gear so that we don't have to worry about gemming for strength of which does increase our attack power. Also isn't there 2 to 3 different tank builds for palys? like there's control, survival and then the mixture of both. which means the stat priority would be different, cause I do read up on noxxic, elitistjerks, tentonhammer & mmomeltingpot sites and 3 out of the 4 sites that is mentioned above has suggested to use Control and the Stats are: hit 7.5%(2550 rating), expert. 15%(5100 rating), haste, mastery, dodge & parry. imo if we're hit and expert. capped. then we shouldn't miss very often on hitting the boss or trash and that they shouldn't be able to dodge and parry our hits. which then I don't enchant for parry and or gem for dodge and parry, cause of the diminishing returns. the gear we get imo should give us enough dodge and parry to where we shouldn't need to rely on gemming for dodge and parry...imo just reforge them. I'd like to read up on some feedback and thanks in advance. always willing and have room to learn

If you enjoy tank'n, dps'n, or healing...I would suggest for you to do some reading and research if you're actively playing WoW and read the sites forums and ask friends that are experienced and knowledgable players that can best describe and help you with your game playing. Here's a few sites for you to checkout: noxxic, elitistjerks, tentonhammer, mmomeltingpot and either log into battle.net or wowarmory.com to checkout how other players gem, enchant their gear and look on their raiding progression of which is on the bottom. I myself have room for learning and improvement, but as the Panda's say, "slow down, life is to be savored" lol take WoW in moderation and have fun.
