Good evening.
Long story short-my nephew gave me away his account in jan '11.
I stopped playing May '11.
Today I tried to get in to that account via battle.net
First time, typo and could not get in.
For whatever reason, those 2-3 attemts failed either.
Then I got this email:
Battle.net Account Locked - Action Required
Went to that link. They asked for simple thing-type in your name and/or surname.
Sure,no probs, I know my nephews data.And then-wtf?
I tried all ways, with caps lock on and off-Im sure name and surname was correct, yet,it didnt work!
After some more attempts...
This account has been locked to prevent an attempted account theft.
Over.I cant do a thing with my account. Is it lost since it never was mine, legaly?
Situations like this can be tricky, but won't be impossible to resolve. If you're having trouble getting through on the number that was previously provided, please check the phone support links in the upper right corner of
this page. Depending on where you're at, the number may be different - along with our hours of support.
Be aware that in order for us to modify the account we're going to ask you to confirm the information that is on the account (personal info, address, secret question) - my advice would be to be straightforward and let us know directly that this has been passed on to you and you need to know what is required to have the information updated.
Of note: Blizzard does not have an external policy on the site for account holdership change, and this is because by default we do not offer it. That being said, it is in our interest to help you and we'll work with you to see what can be verified. Please keep in mind that this is not a guarantee that we will update the information on the account - once you're in contact with us and let us know what's going on, we'll go from there. If possible, it will also help if you have the registered account holder nearby so we can speak with them as well.
I'll be keeping my eye on the thread in case you respond.
Cheers!
