really depends on your class and spec.
for example hunters only need 7.5% hit and 7.5% expertise to not miss a single shot.
i think melee was around the same but i might be wrong.
and offensive spellcaster needed 15% hit i think (expertise was turned into hit for them, if i understood my fellow guildmember correctly)
felhunter is correct on this.
Hunters, Ret/Prot Paladins, Rogues, Warriors, Enh. Shaman, Feral/Guardian Druids, DPS/Tank Monks and Death Knights all need 7.5% hit and 7.5% expertise. This keeps you from missing with your ABILITIES , and keeps you from being dodged when attacking the boss from behind. You still have a chance to miss with your White Damage (read as auto-attacks).
Offensive spell casters such as mage, warlock, ele shaman, shadow priests, balance druids, all need 15% hit. HOWEVER...because blizzard realized how much hit a caster needs to hit 15%, they allowed expertise to count as hit for them. So realistically, you can go 7.5%hit and 7.5% expertise on a caster as well....probably wont need to do that however (Maybe closer to 10/5 respectively.
Healers do not need hit because heals can't miss.

Make sure you are looking at the right attributes and your not accidently looking at spell/melee.
