Playing with low FPS/Trackpad

Hello. I'm a student who haven't been able to afford a computer that's smarter than a toaster. I regularly raid and do Heroics, however my FPS -never- reach above 10 in combat. If I AFK in the middle of nowhere, I still get about 10-15. Elegon is virtually impossible as melee, because my FPS goes honestly to 0-1.
Now, what I wish to discuss is simple: Why do so many people judge others performance based on FPS?
I have a DK Tank at 90, which I only rarely loose aggro with, if ever. I don't miss a GCD with my FPS on 3-4. I don't miss a proc, I move the dragon's head away when it breathes fire... Yet many people don't want me in a raid because 'My bad FPS will mean I perform bad.'
My Hunter, also 90, easily pulls 140k DPS without blinking. Same there. There are times when I don't even get a cooldown on my Kill Command/Explosive Shot, simply because my computer can't show it fast enough, yet I -never- miss it. I use it on every CD, and it goes off without delay despite the fact that my UI won't show it to me.
My healer isn't close to 90, but on level 67 have I never had anyone die if they were in range and LoS. Yet people say 'You can't keep me alive with that FPS'. I have been kicked from Burning Crusade dungeons for simply mentioning my FPS in a discussion, despite not having let anyone drop.
Why do people judge performance from FPS? I know some people can't play with FPS lower than 20, but those who can? Honestly, I'm so used to it so that the times I've played on a better computer, I get annoyed that things show a cooldown. I get annoyed that I suddenly stood somewhere else than I intended when I released the button bout 3 steps before my location to make the client respond in time.
Also, why all the hate against people playing without a mouse? I have a laptop, I can't always use a mouse. I don't keyboard turn, I even took away the keybinds for turning. Yet people are hasty to say 'stop keyboardturning' when I'm in fact not, simply because I mentioned not having a mouse.
TL;DR: Why do people judge performance based on FPS/access to a mouse?

If you perform good, then I don't see the problem. Just ignore them is all I can say.
I don't think it's that there is "hate" against using a track pad, I certainly don't hate people using it. ALTHOUGH; it's definitely not the most efficient by any means. If people bash at you for that for no reason, then again, ignore them.
I would suggest, if all possible, to just save up. Or whatever necessary because me, along with everyone can tell you that you'd enjoy it 10x more. :)
You could possibly get a close friend or someone to build you a PC; desktop of course. These generally are a lot cheaper to what they would be factory, they are custom to your look as well. You'd just need someone to scout out and help you find parts if you aren't familiar with them and what you need.
See ya!

The AMD "Fusion" APU is very cheap and handles old games like WoW pretty well as long as you use a lightweight operating system (i.e., Windows XP instead of Win7). You should be able to put a WoW machine together for $200. Here's one:

I can't upgrade what I have, nor can I afford even as much as $1 ... Unfortunately.

The issues you have playing without hardware lag is just overcompensating from the lag you have. It sounds like you do decent with the rig you have but the fact of the matter is a better pc = better output; the same way keybinds > clicking. Some people can work around it, and and as long as youre doing your job i wouldn't kick you, I'm just saying what most people would say about it (if everyone in game wasn't incredibly rude 99% of the time)
