Consecutive visits

My account doesn't seem to know how many consecutive visits I have. A few days ago, I was in the mid-to-high 70s. I went away for Easter weekend, but I popped on briefly to wowhead from my Android. Yesterday when I checked, I somehow got knocked down to three consecutive visits. I was crushed, because I want the visit achievements. I hoped it was just a bug because of my switching from Firefox visits to Android visits. It seemed like that would be an odd thing to happen, but I figured I would just take a deep breath and wait until I got home to check it out.
Today I log in from Firefox and at first it says three still, but as soon as I hit reload on my page it says I have 56.
...what? How do I have 56? That's neither related to my original count nor the number of days I used an Android to log in . Where is wowhead getting the number 56 from now?

So after I posted this, I went about my wowhead business, and eventually went back to my profile page. The 56 consecutive visits had been knocked down to 4. Neither 3 nor 56, both of which baffle me. Today I log in, and it says 57. I check the forum, to see if there are any responses here yet, then go back to my profile page. It went from 57 ... to 3.
What in the bloody hell is going on here?

Silly question, do u have cookies enabled on your android? It only seems to count if you do.
Also, I'm at 164, haven't noticed any problems.

I'd suggest reviewing the last few posts in
this
thread to get an idea of what is happening here.
Regarding your lapse in visits... our records show that you didn't log in on 03/27/13 which resulted in the restart of your consecutive visit count. Regarding the strange number you're seeing on occasion, check the thread I mentioned above. Also, I don't see that you logged in on 04/02/13 either. Which means the count will likely reset back to 1 sometime today.(##RESPBREAK##)2060##DELIM##Sas148##DELIM##

Hey,
There is a known issue where consecutive visits is sometimes slow to update. So you could miss a day, but your counter could reset a few days later. This issue came up when we fixed a larger problem affecting Daylight Savings Time and the counter.
It's very hard for the devs to narrow the problem down--if you believe that you were marked as missing a day erroneously, having proof of activity (comments, upvotes, forum posts) will really help us out. (For example, I was marked as missing a day, but since I had blog posts as proof, we narrowed the issue down to some server changes on that day.)

Hopefully I did do something those days; I know a good few days I only loaded up the browser window and didn't actually *do* anything on the site. I *know* I was on yesterday though, because when I first fired up my browser it showed me as not being logged in, so I had to manually log back in. After that I think I wandered off though... : \
And it looks like I neither commented nor replied. *sighs* I think these achievements are outside the realm of possible for me to complete. Something *always* goes wrong somewhere.

I still think the system is confused as hell. I really don't think I believe the whole "total number of logins ever" thing since 57 seems awfully small a number for that, especially since the last time I tried to go for 100 I had to manually log in almost every day because I kept getting logged out. Just that time period alone netted me almost fifty logins, and I've had an account on wowhead very nearly since it opened.
Today when I checked, it jumped up to 6 consecutive logins and then dropped back down to 4. And frankly, the only day I was ever even worried that I missed logging in -- the first day I had to log in by Android -- it registered the log in just fine. I'm missing days I know I didn't miss. This system is unbelievably schizophrenic. It's not just slow to update and the "known bugs" with the system don't match reality. How in the heck is anybody expected to maintain logins for a year when it acts like this?

What worked for me was to ensure that I did something on the site at least 3 times a day. Before I left for work, while at work, and again when back home. On weekends or while on vacation, I typically got on at least twice.
Once I started that routine I was able to get the achievement and looking at my counter I am at 419 consecutive visits.
One other that helps is having premium membership to be able to quickly see if I am not logged in by the ads popping up.
