I think it would be a little uncomfortable.
Also, how will you use your spells since not all bars have numbers.

What about the other things that you have on the bars?
Remember that you just don't use your spells, people also use mounts and potions or food.

WoW, on consoles?
That would be fricking impossible, the game is like 11 TBs!
Never mind the terabytes. The game already requires the use of 2 mice and more keys than any keyboard has (hence the need to ctrl-this and alt-that). How are you going to cram all of that crap onto a console controller?

I'm not sure how you're playing the game, but I can do just about everything I need to with a mouse and 8-12 keys. Using a controller you're able to use, say, the R2 and L2 buttons (imagine a Playstation controller) to modify the buttons you're pressing, effectively quadrupling the number of available inputs just using the four basic buttons. (X, R2+X, L2+X, R2+L2+X). Just by doing that there are more "keys" available than I regularly use on any of my toons.
And if you think about it, doing ctrl+whatever is more or less following that same modifier mechanic that I just described. Even including my alt+button macros the number of keys I'd need remains less than 16. You've got 24 possible combinations just with the basic stuff on the controller using two buttons as modifiers. Even more if you control the character and camera with the sticks and have the D-pad used for button input. Plus with the touchscreens that are being used in the current upcoming generation of consoles (Wii U has it, I believe PS4 has it, and I'm not sure but I think the next XBox might), that's another source of input for spellcasting, interacting, so on and so forth.
The controller would have issues, but a lack of buttons is
definitely
not one of them.

Since most of the consoles have a keyboard plug in well....
That being said, still don't think you'll ever see WoW on them, cause its not really a console type game.

You cannot play WoW well without a keyboard and mouse:
Controlling your character.
Selecting targets.
Casting multiple spells on those targets.
All at the same time.
There is no way that can be done
well
with standard console controllers.
If you're going to buy a $300 console and then buy a separate keyboard and mouse, you might as well spend $500 on a good PC that you can do 100 other things with.

Very doubtful because if they brought it to consoles it would require massive changes to the base gameplay, which would be a huge gamble with their cash-cow.
it is possible they would do a completely separate game for consoles and not have it interact with PC-WOW at all.. but it wouldn´t really be WOW, just WOW in name only.
Elder Scrolls online is much more like to be PC and console on the same servers because the combat is much more simple with less abilities (ala Diablo)
