Any successful appeals to stolen guild situation?

Our guild, <Lunacy> was stolen by a not-untrusted player (we raided together, gah) after the guild leader had been gone for over 90 days. Hurrah for exploits. Tickets have been sent, GMs have been met, voices have been raised, and all to no avail (sucks to be you, player didn't break any rules, blah blah). In hindsight there were lots of things we could've done to avoid this situation but now we're just left wondering if there's anything to be done about it besides moving on to other guilds. For many of us this was a second home and betrayal has scattered us and left several shaken to the core. I've done some forum searching and come out empty handed so I was wondering if any Wowheaders knew of successful attempts to reclaim stolen guilds?

Unfortunately this falls entirely within the rules and is unaddressable. Cut your losses and learn from the experience.

Its the community that makes the guild. Leave and start a new one with your friends. Getting to level 25 is a trifle now.
I'm going to second this. Just make a new guild, gather all your old members together, and push for 25. It won't take long. The fault really lies with your old GM not turning over the reins to someone active before taking 3 months off.
@ OP - It can be hard to run a guild when no one has access to the permissions and such to change them as the needs of your guild change, no one can promote officers, etc. Granted, the new person was being a tool, and shouldn't have taken advantage of the situation, but your old GM was the one who left the keys in the door, so to speak.

May I ask what makes you more suitable to take the mantle over the guy who got it?
Are you pissed you didn't get to pillage the coffers instead?
Troll harder, please.
I come here to ask if anyone has knowledge of appeals and y'all go all super cynical mode. I knew it was scathing sometimes in here but wow that took me by surprise. So I'll also take it as "No one to our knowledge has been successful. Good luck in the future."
Thanks for answering. Cheers.

Entropy's obnoxiousness aside, you did receive some reasonable suggestions/answers from others before he posted.
To my knowledge, there has never been a successful appeal. What happened was a legitiment game feature and as stated previously it's just unfortunate the GM didn't pass the reins before disappearing for 90-days. Best bet is to make a new guild with all your peeps and hope for the best.
Good luck.

Sincere thanks to y'all who took the time to give constructive answers not laced with sarcasm or... weirdness. Sometimes it takes a bit of confirmation and a kick in the pants to get over the denial. But I can't blame Omner for what happened, I blame myself for not being clever enough to figure it out and save the guild I'd loved being a part for almost 7 years. We just all got too busy in reality being grown ups. Working on moving on and choosing a rebound guild, thanks for the good luck wishes.
Have a good one.
