Missing NPC

Ok. so I'm off flying around - heading off to Ravenholdt Manor, when see this level 85, Neutral Human (Rogue per Xperl) Ghost, just sitting on top of one of the hills. The NPCs name is "Reislek's Ghost".
So, I decide to look him up on Wowhead - and nothing with his name turned up. Which is, needless to say, pretty odd. So I do a Google search - nothing turns up for either Reislek or Reislek's Ghost.
So, naturally - I'm getting more than a bit confused here. Then I figure, maybe I'm just typing it in wrong. So I run the following macro to get his ID
/run print("Target NPC ID:", tonumber((UnitGUID("target")):sub(-10, -7), 16))
and that returns 54784. When I plug that into Wowhead, it gives me the NPC not found error.
Needless to say, this guy has definitely gotten me curious

Maybe nobody found him since he's in an obscure spot, so our client never picked him up. If you give me the exact coordinates, I'll fly out there with the client and see about getting him into the database.

70.56,50.72 - Hillsbrad Foothills (n/b Ravenholdt Manor)
Level 85
Race Human (ghost)
Class Rogue
Aggro - Neutral/Attackable
NPC ID: 69846
When brought to 0 health, he just fades out (no death animation), and respawned only a couple minutes later.

Also, additional info about my character - that might have some influence on why he appeared.
Lvl 90 Rogue, Honored with Ravenholdt, acquired the legendary daggers.
Edit: Fixed NPC id

Oh that's very cool if related. I have the legendary daggers too, I'll fly out on a few different characters.

Wouldnt Data Mining have picked him up?
I also went over to the spot to locate him. I hit him a couple times and he just disappears, not even making much damage to him. After hitting him a few times, i get a chat notice that says
"The ghost fades away into the mist..."
I was using a level 85 Prot Warrior. He re-spawns after 30 seconds
His NPC id for me is 69846, according to the wowhead_looter tooltip

NPCs are handled differently than items/spells/quests. As a basic example, it's why NPCs always are delayed a little when doing PTR builds.

Your NPCID macro is outdated, Federalagent has the right ID.
Wowpedia has the right one on their NPCID page and the wowwiki entry is out of date (I think that's where you got it from?).

This NPC was likely added in 5.2 being lower npc numbers were added in 5.2. such as
69842 - Zandalari Warbringer
How long does it take for the information to be added to the database once uploaded?

Popular consensus on the WoW General Discussion board, is that he's a reference to this guy:

I noticed this when digging through the dbc files a way back - or more accurately- I couldn't find any link between the DisplayID and the actual NPC ID. I finally just assumed that this was server-side voodoo.

Yeah, I thought that might have been a possibility, that's why I posted the macro that I used :) That one I got via a Google search, and came from a WoW Petopia forum post.
Regardless, in the future, I'll keep that in mind. :D

You should get the
wowhead client
. then in game, go to the interface addon settings and turn on the Npc ID tool tip. not only will the addon collect the information, gather the NPC information, but it also tells you the ID and helps with your wowhead profiler.
