Hi,
Just saw this over on the forums:
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/7884848459
Guy states that after his getting his toon to 90, he can't bring himself to do 85-90 again.
I just don't agree. I think MoP has some of the most fun and interesting quests, and I have now completed 85-90 on 6 characters. I can't wait to do it on my 7th.
What do you guys think?
Cheers.

People whine about leveling all the time; whiners want to whine, let them...tears run WoW after all.

The guy is saying he's willing to trade the 'good old days' for these new times.
Times change, man. The WoW community has changed incredibly from Vanilla days. There's a lot more in the game, but people are rushing towards end game and forgetting about all the side projects.

Amusing that he's posting it as a level 1 alt...oh well; just like arse holes, everyone has opinions, don't mean they don't stink lol.

It's funny that some people say they complete Cata to get to 87 so they can do as little of MoP as possible. I remember in Cata, people said they hated Cata questing. I guess they can't make their minds up.
Cheers.

everyone has different motivations..
it took me a year to find the courage to level up a new toon from 1-70 after doing burning crusade once with my first 70.
give him a few months, he'll submit.

Leveling in Pandaland is so good I got my first real mouse injury soon after I got my second 90. I played too much and now I can't play for months.
And I'm not usually the questing type.

Just leveled my third toon to 90. MoP leveling is a breeze. So much better than Vanilla was. I remember the agony of the 57-60 leveling in the plaguelands and silithus. Worst...leveling...ever...
We have it so much better now.
As for tediousness, the only thing I've found to be really really tedious is the rep grind at lvl 90. I'm not one who likes to do dailies, so I miss the good old days of tabards = rep.

His thought has merit. Have 3 85s and another at 80. Then 2 almost into Northrend. They'll remain at 85, as just thinking about a rep grind for them at 90 is enough to park them.
Blizzard is timing getting fully geared for around 4 to 5 months of about 6 month tier gear patches. All that trouble on multiple toons isn't worth it for about 1 to 2 months of enjoyment, before their gear is again worthless...got off that gear rollercoaster in Cata. To do all that ensures burnout, as there's no real reward to do so, all you worked for will be replaced by another tier or greens.

pfft that's one of the strangest things I've heard. The 85-90 experience is one of the best parts of leveling an alt right now. Specially jade forest. I suppose I can't blame him for not wanting to do Krasarang again, but the majority of pandaria felt amazing to me, and its only made even better by the fact that pandaria is 100% CRZ-FREE. That alone makes the 85-90 levels a ton better.

Think:
1. Golden Lotus rep grind (120 rep per quest grinding until revered. Sick yet?)
2. Shado-Pan rep grind.
3. August Celestrials rep grind.
4. Klaxxi rep grind.
5. Cloud Serpents rep grind.
6. Tillers rep grind (at least with Cloud Serpents and Tillers there was some relief with Dark Soil and eggs).
After that, I don't blame anyone parking their toons at level 85...
for burnout relief
.
Why? LFR and heroic dungeons offer crap gear. Want the gear with some stats, off to do faction grinding...over and over and over. Getting alts out for that is too late now anyway, 5.2 is on the horizon, and that gear is pointless (won't be able to even upgrade the items until 5.3+ to bother).

The only rep grind I have completed on my alts is the Tillers. That is so I can plant a full 16 plots daily.
I currently have 3 at 90, 3 at 85 and then 6 more between 22 and 84. I am running my first , currently at 81 to 90 along with 2 druids both at 51 one each faction to 90. Yes they are on 2 different servers split by faction 9 alliance and 3 horde.

I'm a raider and I rushed to 90 as soon as MoP launched, was done in under 21 hours (which is not very impressive, but I'm not that hardcore, and had some small chores to do that day as well). It was fun in a way, on vent with the guildies all the time, but also exhausting. I have also levelled on the beta prior to this.
Then, when the time came to level one of my alts for our alt raids, I really just couldn't bring myself to do it. Never been a huge fan of questing, but I enjoyed Hyjal and Uldum in Cata, which were my go-to zones for levelling alts. I haven't found a single zone like that in MoP. This is my personal opinion and it's totally okay if you disagree with it, but the grind is somewhat tiresome.
Another thing are the dailies. People say you don't have to do dailies, it's optional, etc. Thing is, it's not optional to me, if I want my character to be optimal for entry-level raiding, I'll be doing dailies, case closed. And I did. And I despise dailies. As a result, I've got 6 level 85 characters waiting for something to happen, and only two at max level. I totally agree about
burnout relief
- I want to keep playing and I will keep playing no matter, but I know I won't level my alts for quite some time.
Maybe I'm just a whiner, or I rushed my first levelling experience too much. One way or another, not everyone has to like the same thing - I don't like MoP levelling, but I enjoy other things, such as the raids, the dungeons or even the pet battles when I'm bored.

This was the first expansion I didn't have any pressure to level my main quickly, though I made fairly good time anyway. I had all then-10 classes at 85 simply due to having time on my hands and making a habit out of leveling alts when I was bored in Cataclysm and had no problem doing that. Never really had a problem leveling alts before but MoP has been extremely tedious to do it in for me, to the point where I've literally Alt-F4'd halfway through a quest several times over the course of leveling each alt I've taken to 90. Most of Pandaria has been very, very dull.
Very few memorable quests and characters and much of it is presented in a way that really doesn't appeal to me. Most main characters are annoying and races are utterly predictable with virtually every minor character belonging to them coming across as uninspired. Jade Forest quests where you controlled the expedition sidekicks were pretty cool and I quite liked the Klaxxi (though questing for them is repetitive as hell), that's about it.
Maybe I'm just getting old (metaphorically rather than literally as I've been playing since start of vanilla), though most friends and guildies I've talked to have expressed similar sentiments, including several spontaneous rants in guild chat and whispers on how tedious it is to level alts in MoP. I know people who've come back recently and leveled alts from scratch without heirlooms who've continually commented on how quickly and smoothly it goes while leveling them only to abandon them halfway between 85 and 86 because they cba doing MoP again.

Except all of the things you mentioned are at lvl 90.
We're talking about leveling up from 85 TO 90.
I for one would never want to do either of the things you mentioned again, I did it once on my main, and that's more than enough, but the leveling experience itself is amazing. I've already leveled 3 alts to 90, and while I haven't done (nor do I plan to do) any rep grinding on them, I througly enjoyed leveling them to 90, because the quests and the zones are so brilliantly done. The one zone that I didn't found impressive was Krasarang, its just boring, not tedius, but not awesome either.
And Dread Wastes needs to be better tuned as questing there pre-90 is horrible if you're not a tank.
Other than those 2 little nitpicks, 85 to 90 is pure perfection, which I would gladly do several times over.
Actual progression is a different tale, but this has been the case for EVERY expansion. I for one, hated havnig to gear up my alts on WOTLK and CATA, and for MoP I'm not even bothering.

I actually liked doing the Klaxxi the first time (most interesting faction in the game IMO), and with the commendation the second time was really easy since the non-daily quests are enough to put you halfway through Revered. Tillers is easy since the daily quests don't take long and give a lot of rep, and Cloud Serpents was one of the most painless rep grinds I've ever done (first time only took a few days, second time with the commendation seriously took under an hour), so I don't see how anyone can complain about those. Golden Lotus I'll give you, I can't even bring myself to do that on one character, and obviously I can't comment on the other two since I haven't gotten to them.
And that doesn't really have to do with leveling itself. In that regard, my only real problem is that it's way too easy to accidentally pull huge packs of mobs (especially without flying).
