So since 5.1 and the ability to solo pre-MoP raid content, has anybody experienced any raids that they are unable to solo? I tried soloing BT yesterday and I couldn't down Blood Boil as a warrior (both fury and prot), although I hear you can as a DK. Has anybody tried soloing firelands yet? I'm interested and hearing your soloing experiences :)

Just to clarify as a lot of people seem to think they implemented some global nerf to all pre-MoP raid bosses, this is not the case. A select few bosses that were technically impossible to solo (or only by certain classes or with crazy RNG luck) received some adjustments to make it possible to solo them for all classes, mostly in light of the new battle pets dropped from various old world raid bosses.
The only bosses they adjusted were Razorgore in Blackwing Lair, Viscidus, Twin Emperors and C'Thun in the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj, A'lar in Tempest Keep: The Eye and Reliquary of Souls in the Black Temple.
Most pre-MoP content has been cleared solo, at least by certain classes, where DKs, Hunters and Paladins have always been at the top of the soloing list in most cases.

Yeah I was just able to verify this. Went into the Firelands and got my face smashed in. I was able to solo Ony 10 man as a warrior though. Flight phase took a while but it's definitely doable. It looks like WotLK raids and older are able to be solo'd (makes sense). Anyone know if Ulduar is possible to solo?

Various classes have solo'd Ulduar, pretty sure only pet classes can do Thorim due to the arena/hallway mechanic however.

So far I have done Naxx 10m, Black Temple, AQ40(25) and Molten Core solo with my Monk. Naxx is a cakewalk, only Gluth took a while. I have never been able to solo Reliquary of Souls before the patch, now it was cake (Never had trouble with High Warlord Naj'entus.
Touch of Death
took care of that.). C'thun is now actually killable, and I believe I do not need to post how I did in Molten Core, eh? (I can instantly kill over half of the bosses.) Lol.

I was tanking him right on top of the ghouls spawn point. My DPS was higher than what they healed him for. Really, damaging through the healing of Twin Emps felt harder.

I didn't update my addons since the patch so I am running with none heh. But it usually hovers around 30k when I get low Vengeance. That is, 30k of sustained DPS, ended up with a Touch of Death when the enemy dips below 600k hp. I am specifying it like this because the ToD tends to mess up the results and cranks my dps number up.
I will make sure to check it out next time I kill Gluth.

I guess I was on my resto/balance druid. I didn't try on my warrior.

gotcha. Second Wind on warriors makes soloing old content easy. If you're planning on soloing Ony on your warrior, grab storm hammer and second wind and you should have any issues. I was able to solo bloodboil today finally (which was the hardest boss to solo in the entire BT raid for me), and I wouldn't have been able to do it without second wind. I'm going for sunwell and ulduar tomorrow. does anyone know if they changed the mechanic on the first boss in sunwell?

They did not. You can just reset him which will despawn him long enough so you can pass though.

re: RG soloing ( For warriors of any spec )
after multiple wipes using the method of break eggs, cancel MC, kill like crazy, then repeat . . . I was frustrated. I ( level 90 protection warrior ) was able to solo him tonight using only my sword, shield, and Second Wind. I equipped only my sword and shield, which left me with roughly 180k hp. This made the fight
easy
. I was down to 35% health much sooner than on previous attempts, and second wind kept me between 27 and 35 percent health for the duration of the encounter ( and generated far more aggro to boot ! ).
Finally, and most importantly, I
refrained from killing any mobs
. By not killing ( and thus respawning ) the mobs, I was being hit enough to sustain my HP via SW and run around breaking eggs without aggroing anyone. Bust out Demoralizing Shout early on-- if you need to grab aggro without dpsing ( piercing howl, etc ) -- use your War Banners as others mentioned, and dismiss RG when he's got aggro -- only took me 3 MCs to take out all the eggs, and finish him off with only sword and board.
Good luck!
Hope this helps.
I'm not trying to punch holes in your methods, but why would you want to remove all of your armor just to allow second wind to activate sooner? With your 180k HP at that point, your second wind is only healing you for roughly 5k a tick where if you were wearing your armor, it would be healing for 15k a tick provided you are around 500k HP. Plus you'd be taking much much less damage with your armor on. I'm just confused why you went about the fight this way.
As a warrior, I found the easiest way to handle this fight is to MC RG, and immediately start killing eggs while working your way towards the platform he initially starts on. Burn all those eggs and then start zigzagging your way back to the platform you're MCing from. Use the dragon-sleep ability as often as possible, and by the time you get any decent amount of adds on RG, the MC will pop. When this occurs, burn the adds on you and drop your mocking banner. If you still have adds on RG, run RG close to the MC platform so the banner will taunt them off you. Then just burn the rest of the eggs at this point. It's super easy as a warrior.
For shamans, you can use this same tactic but instead of popping mocking banner, pop your earth elemental. Just make sure you're dropping the earth elemental totem on you instead of in the middle of the room, otherwise the adds will attack the totem and kill it before running after your elemental (which cancels the elemental)

With my level 90 armor equipped, I wasn't dropping to SW level HP quickly enough, depriving me of all the healing aggro I generated using the method I posted about. Just my experience. I tried it 6-7 times with my armor, killing adds and MCing, dismissing when appropriate, etc, and no matter what, Razorgore ended up getting too much aggro and dying.
My armorless attempt worked beautifully-- i was never in danger of dying, I only needed 2-3 MC's to get all the eggs, and I didn't need to kill any adds. Just one method, not THE method.
No, that actually makes a great deal of sense. I didn't think about the effects of healing aggro. I thought you were doing it just out of survivability reasons only. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks :P
