After long days of punching, kicking and rolling, a Monk can come here and discuss those things which don't require the use of martial arts.
Examples of things that can belong here:
Chatting about Druid Tanks.
Talking about the latest in world sport / affairs.
General chat - what are you up to today?
Ranting about the quality of posts on Wowhead.
Examples of things that probably shouldn't be in here:
Discussion about the latest Monk Features or Class Changes
"Rate my Monk!"-style posts.
Trolling, spamming, etc., the usual.
Thanks to
Squish
for well written rules, and then thanks to the
Hunter's Lodge
, for making every Class wish they had a cool place to
shoot
the breeze.
Other names for an off topic post could have been: ** Turtle's Tavern ** ** Mountain Temple ** ** Bambo Forest **
Any other names?
Cheers,
Hat

TBH, I have always felt weird about this rule:
Discussion about the latest Monk Features or Class Changes
It popped in some of the class off topics, but luckilly it never appeared in the Druid one. We talk about every single PTR thing and class change there o_O Basically, the OT topic is pretty good for occasions when you wanna talk about something class-related and do not feel like making a new topic about it. Like the Bin in OT.

It comes up in the paladin section some times. Most of the time offhand things are fine, if any real discussion comes of a Class related change, there is usually a Link posted that shows where people are already talking about it.
Also, posting the words "druid tank" in a Wowhead forum post makes the hair on the back of Thror's neck stand up. His bear senseswere tingling on this one!

Well, in off-topic threads (druid grove, abysall maw etc) I usually see all kinds of stuff, even about other games. That's why it's called off-topic ;-)

My bear senses have actually been a little dead these last days, thanks to Skyrim! :<
Oh and I was thinking about a name for a topic like this too, and I kinda came up with "The Shaolin Tea House" but I like Zen Garden too.

As a future Tanking Class, I feel the need to familiarize myself with the Monk class (I probably won't roll one, at least nowhere near to 85).
So I might be frequent.

Heh, I didn't unlock the Zen Garden yet in PvZ. :) The first thing that comes to my mind when Zen is mentioned is books of William Gibson. He seems to really like the idea of Zen used as a combat art, having two heavilly Zen based super awesome assassins in two completely unrelated book series and stuff. I sympathise with his idea of Zen killers a lot, it's
sexy
.

I love how you skeddadled in here to make the Off-Topic topic before we even had any info =P

Even weirder, there's an off-topic for regulars without any regulars. Yet somehow the people who are regulars in all of the
other
off-topics are posting here.

Why do you think I had a name already made up too.
And it is never too early to start crystallizing a Monk community!

Pretty much. I'm sure most of the regulars will have an alt Monk to some degree at the very least. I personally plan on levelling one to 90 for the sake of seeing how they play out at endgame.

How long before we get the MoP forum?

How long before we get the MoP forum?
I hope they don't make one. We don't need trolls on that forum.

*Cough* Hatman is trying to get gold achievements *Cough*
Anyway I dunno if I will even bother with a monk when MoP comes out. I might try one out for a spin. Though me and the other Death Knights are very upset that this class forum isn't in its proper alphabetical place. I think I speak for all Death Knights here when I say we are better than everyone else and need to have the top class forum spot on the list back ;P
Have fun in your many off topic conversations of off topicness and stuff.

And succeeding ^_^
It's a good initiative to get one of these going in the new Monk forum so a new monk community can start to grow in the run up to the next expansion. Also, that (rule-breaking) ascii art is very cool!

So I for one think that they need to put FIST WEAPON heirlooms into the game now for my Melee DPS monk
Or maybe convert the 2H mace heirloom to a staff...I believe they can use staff-class weapons, right?
