Guild Leveling 1-25 Solo, Is It Possible?

To reinforce what the others said:
Is it possible? Yes.
Will it take a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time? Hell yeah.

Possible, but not useful. The time spent solo-leveling a guild will be a hundred times more work than anything gained from any of the perks. For example, the small amount of time saved from using Mass Resurrection will drown in the endless ocean of time wasted on doing daily quests for XP.
The most likely result of even trying is becoming so bored that you'll quit the game.

Yikes. yes, doing some Math makes it seem pretty impossible within a couple of years.
Even doing 2% of each level each day, that's 50x24 => 1200 days. That's about 3 and a half years.
Anyway, I'm just plugging away as normal, and I'll just see how high I eventually get.
Cheers.

Yeah, I was curious, so I did the actual math. This is just to get to guild level 5. (and rememeber, the exp between levels grows)
To get to guild lvl 5 requires about 75,000,000 guild exp.
A fireland daily quests gives about 20,000 guild exp (average)
That means 3750 daily quests
assuming you can do 50 daily quests a day (on multiple characters obviously)
That is 75 days of doing 50 daily quests a day.
So even if you incorrectly say that exp is flat from 5-25.. that means 375 days of doing 50 daily quests per day.
Come back and gives us a shout after you have done 50 daily quests for 3 days in a row. I was bored to tears just doing fireland dailies on two different characters.. which amounts to about 24 quests... so you are either going to have to run 4 different characters through firelands every day, or you are going ot have to fly to twilight highlands etc to pick up quests there.
It will be MUCH more viable to gain two members and do daily heroics together.

I don't do 50 daily quests a day. I do about 10-20 and then level other toons, and once they're in the 80-85 range their quests bring in great XP also.
What sucks is that Guild XP is calculated before any bonuses. For example, a couple of my RAFed toons are getting 24K for a quest, but guild XP is only calculated based on the 8K base XP.
Cheers.

Wow. Nice necro.
BTW: I did level my personal guild up to level 7 until I got burnt out.
So, it is possible, but an extremely long grind. Maybe longer than any other grind in the game.
Cheers.

Doesnt seem fair to smaller guilds, almost seems like there should be a formula in place to account for the number of active members over time and pro rate it to level the playing field a little.

My personal guild was at 17, but then my server got tagged for New Players and became a high population server, so I got like 60 recruits.

Wow. Level 17 by your self? That's some dedication. Why on earth did you let other people in with only 8 levels to go?
Cheers.

I !@#$ing wish. I had a bit of help.

Well, sorry to burst your bubble then, but it wasn't a personal guild. When I say personal, I mean just myself and my alts. That's level 7 just on my own.
Cheers.

It takes 845.67 million guild experience (give or take) from 1 to 25.
My personal guild is at lv 6 on the way to 7 with 10 lv 85's who've done 113 million. Rather than doing dailies, I usually level my guys through to max level then do all the zone quests. It's a little more interesting than doing the same couple of dailies over and over. Although I do some occasional dailies, it's not what I focus on. The other thing that can generate a lot of guild experience for a solo guild is the holidays where you do the tour quests (Hollows End, Lunar Festival and Midsummer Fire Festival). You can rack up 1m+ guild experience per max character on each of those holidays. I usually do 2-5 rounds of the tours before I get bored of them.
I'll probably get to guild level 7, maybe to 8 if I want to push a bunch of dailies. However, when MoP launches just leveling those same 10 characters and a new 11th slot through regular questing is going to add quite a bit to your guild experience. If MoP follows the same pattern as Cata on experience required per level then the total to go from 85 to 90 is easily going to be >100m. Exactly following the same pattern would give about 120m with 50m for 89-90. If you primarily quest to level a single account would probably see 150-200m addition guild experience or enough to go from level 1 to 8 or 9.
Now I understand that there will be 7 zones in MoP and just like Cata, you'll hit max level long before you finish all of the quests in those 7 zones. Finishing all quests in all zones on a full account will undoubtedly generate a large amount of guild experience if you don't want to do dailies. With the overhaul of dailies it may be much more interesting to do those dailies and they undoubtedly will be more efficient than doing the zone quests.
tl/dr: If someone wishes to level up a guild from scratch, questing through MoP to max level (even starting at lv 85) on a full account is likely to get you close to level 10 before running dailies.

Of course, as the Guild Level is increasing to 30 in MoP, that's going to be that much more for solo players to work at.

And this is why I am recruiting as much as I can. At 21 and still increasing...

well then why are you posting about it in a discussion about solo guilds.
Leveling a guild to level 25 with only your characters is the same as leveling a warrior to 85 without ever wearing armor or a weapon. Yes, it can be done, and yes it seems éasy´ when you spend the first 5 days doing it.. but in reality, this is a game. Is it really fun to do otherwise meaningless quests in order to get .001% closer to the next guild level?
You are forgoing huge parts of the game that are fun... unless you have unlimited time to play.
There is probably a ´better´ option in MOP.. when mop starts, ALL quests that are at least green difficulty will give guild exp. that means a quest a level 5 gives substantially more than today. What you could do is bust through the first 10 levels of questing, delete the character and do it all on a different character. This is similar to how cheap people play DDO to earn ´points´..

I'll define what I find fun thank you very much.
Some people are levelers. Some people are endgamers. Some are crafters. Levelers tend to enjoy the leveling more than they do the endgaming. Oftentimes you might find those gamers as altoholics. Leveling a guild is just another aspect of how their fun comes from leveling.

Well said Dagle. Some people do in fact like Guild Leveling. I joined a level 25 guild on one of my toons and thought I was set. But I actually missed Guild Leveling and so quit the guild. I'm now in a re-roll guild on Hyjal where we're leveling up the guild and it's now level 15.
I do think I'll get back to my solo guild once MoP hits though. It will be interesting to see how much XP all those 86-90 quests will bring in. And once one toon gets to 90, being able to do as many dailies as I want will be quite intriguing.
Cheers.

I'm doing the same thing. Got bored of my main toons and rerolled on a new server. Besides my main account I also have 2 active and 1 inactive account so I have lots and lots of room for alts on my new server (and with the sale on at BestBuy I may add more accounts while they are cheap). I decided to play Horde instead of Alliance this time and I am going to Everyquest level each toon.
I decided that I really do enjoy the journey more than the destination.
Oh, and I miss your updates lanky. Someone once snidely suggested you get a blog instead of updating your thread. Did you ever do it?
