I've been using a Logitech MX518 and old Logitech G15 I've had for years, until they fall apart and break I don't see any reason to buy a fancy Razer product... which 50% of the price is in the packaging...

even when you're trying to move? alot of fights in cata are mobile, and strafing, controlling your camera, and trying to hit ctrl+alt+2 all at the same time can be very uncomfortable, whereas its very comfortable when you can click with your mouse thumb instead

My keyboard is just an MK700, and my mouse is an MX518.
Serves me perfectly fine.

For keyboard, I'm using an old Logitech G11 and am looking forward to a G19 soon (tm). Loving it, no complaints.
Recently replaced my old 2 button Logitech mouse with a Saitek R.A.T. 5. This thing is insane. On the fly DPI adjustment, can set up to 15 macros (5 buttons/3 modes), adjustable weight and length, and only cost $60.
My advice is check out a site like newegg and browse the comments on some of the mice and boards that catch your eye. You never know what you may find.

I just got a Logitech G110 for Christmas. It's really, really good, and a great option if you're stuck using a Mac like I am.

Gorefiend, I thought it was 19 buttons? 12 on the side, forward/back buttons, RMB, LMB, and MMB?
You'll do best with whatever setup you're comfortable with. I know that on my shaman, I have a setup that will work with any computer. However, my brother's setup for his shaman is dependent on his Naga. If I were to try to play with his keybinds, I can guarantee you I wouldn't be able to play it as well as he does using his setup, since I've never familiarized myself with it. Similarly, he'd probably have a hard time using my setup, since he's gotten used to his setup with the Naga.
I personally use a Logitech MX518 and G15 on my main computer, and an old PS/2 keyboard and 3-button mouse on my old computer. You don't really need anything special for WoW, as it's designed to be played on hardware that's 2-3 years old. Just find something you find comfortable and efficient, and stick with it.
