The might one is definately the best, but because it takes so much work to get, most just use the defender one. Your not gunna gimp yourself by using the defender. The difference is minimal.

FYI the reason the dodge is less attractive is because in PVE you are going to get healed regardless of whether or not you dodge attacks... they assume you are taking the damage.
It's not about removing yourself from damage, it's about increasing the amount of damage you can withstand.

Stamt, your an idiot, sorry.
Most fights, you will get spam healed non stop. STAM is king in 25man raids. You can get away with higher avoidance and lower stamina in 10man content, but not later on.
18k hp raid buffed? are you kidding me? thats horrible. If your not over 20k HP raid buffed you have issue's. Even our prot pally's have more than 18k raid buffed.
Stacking avoidance is like playing russian rullet. Sometimes you get lucky, and it works out great for you, other times, it doesnt and you die. You fail to dodge/parry a few times too many, and now your dead cause you dont have the stamina to survive. And 9 times out of 10, heals are going to hit you reguardless of if you dodge/parry something.
And then you run into this issue a lot more: Your being spam healed, then you start dodge/parry'ing a lot in a row, and so healers stop healing you so much. Then you dont dodge/parry for a while in a row, and you die cause your healers werent healing you as hard because you werent taking any damage when you were avoiding it. And the things you tank are hitting so hard, they cant reactivly heal you once they see your incomming damage spike up again.

I didn't really read anything beyond:
Basicly bull^&*! btw, a 18k HP tank (which is what we're talking about in good raids) Isn't always getting topped off all the time. There are a LOT of bosses where you only have 1 healer per tank and they will not be able to keep you up if you don't dodge some dmg.
The reason why I stopped reading is because the very first couple of sentences invalidates the basis of the argument. It's quite simple, really: having 490 defense means one has quite a bit of avoidance already (and every warrior raiding
will
have this). Stacking more avoidance is situational -- a different suit of armor would be used for that instead of a suit focused on progression or mitigation.

I quoted "Best" because I don't care for that debate and want to get into it...
If I see one more thread with the word "best" in the title, my head is going to explode!
A wiser choice for the thread would have been, "Tanking Head Enchants - Presence of Might or Glyph of the Defender?" or some shortened variation, "ZG Helm Enchant or Glyph for 70 Tanking?" The possibilities are endless & there will be many, many page hits from not only people replying to the question, but others looking to see what the verdict is.
-----
That's what our purpose here is, to provide answers, opinions, & insight for others. When someone asks a question, it should immediately provoke thought so that everyone will be curious about the question. If the question doesn't amount to a hill of beans, "Which pair of socks should I wear?" then it is probably safe to say that it's not really doing anything more than cluttering up the boards.
Perhaps in a situation as stated above, it would be wiser to ask, "How to compare two items? Is there a way?" or some similar title, then one could use the methodology provided to solve their own question -- not just once, for themselves, but providing a solution to any/all related gear questions for
everyone
.

Note
: The answer to the above question, "How to compare two items? Is there a way?" refers directly to the question of effective health in terms of tanking. For dealing damage, it becomes a little more complicated, but the basic guidelines dictate one should decide what to use based on their: current stats/attributes, talent build, gear, etc. which you can find more about in the Warrior FAQ.

The problem with avoidance is you dont get to choose when it kicks in.
You cant say, well you gotta stack avoidance to dodge/parry those big
hits, or when he chain hits you 4 times in a row for over 20k dmg in less
than 3 seconds. Because the truth is, sometimes it will work, and sometimes
it wont. And yes, i have lost over 20k health in less than 3 seconds.
I was over 20k raid buffed in mostly T4 gear, and now im over 21k getting
close to 22k as i fill out my T5 equivolant Gear. You dont need T6 to get
20k health raid buffed.

From my experience - simply stacking either hp or avoidance is a mistake. However - once you get to about 35% dodge/parry you shouldnt actively stack any avoidance but rather go for hp.
My guild 2 MT (ok - 1 is a druid) are both over 20k hp fully raid buffed and ~35% avoidance and we are only 1/6 SSC and 1/4 TK - so yeah - really, really shouldnt be running any 25 man content other than Gruul with 18k or less.
