What other DPS are you going up against? Retribution can do some nice damage, but it's unrealistic to expect to outperform other pure DPS classes with similar gear assuming they know anything about their class. What's your average DPS anyway? I can't imagine it being terribly low with your gear, gems, and enchants.
In my experience when a Ret Pally has low DPS the problem is their rotation nine times out of ten. Retribution doesn't have a traditional rotation since it's FCFS, but even with FCFS you have priorities you should follow. On single target fights, use the ability that does the most damage first. On two or more mobs you typically should be using the ability that hits the most targets first. Your choice of seals makes a big difference too: Command on groups of mobs, Righteousness on single-target short fights, and Corruption/Vengeance on bosses and fights that stretch out for a time.
You can always pick up a FCFS addon such as
clcret
to help you with your rotation if you wanted to try that.

I prefer CLCRet over faceroller, but either is fine. Clcret has more advanced options and can track Divine Plea and Wings for you.
That mod is the best dps increase you can find.

Quest
get rid of the agility, replace with strength, that's where our damage comes from

and tanking is the most difficult job (On average, this is also fight dependent). Not even close. Tanking with a
Warrior
is decently challenging, but tanking with a Paladin is take-a-nap easy. I'd say Healing in general is the most challenging role with the least room for error.

Professional players don't play Paladins...lol
You have 3 mainspec DPS characters... DPSing is the easiest job in PvE.
I disagree.

This is more accurate if you ask me. I have raided in all 3 specs with my paladin, and healing is the most challenging. None or very little room for error.
I also raid with my hunter, and maximising dps with it is harder than with my paladin. (By wich i mean getting the best dps out of your rotation, not changing gear or spec. And im not saying its
easy
to get the most out of your paladin either.)

Uh... you do your threat rotation, and occasionally taunt or backpedal. That's about it. The main difference being that as a Paladin you can tank with a single button, letting you spend all of your "think time" worrying about when to taunt or when to backpedal. It's amazingly uncomplicated. I say this as a Prot Paladin alt with a better résumé than you.

What single button? Consecrate? Judgement? Righteous Shield? Avenger's Shield? Holy Shield? Hammer of the Righteous? Hand of Reckoning? Righteous Defense? Divine Protection? Have I been using too many buttons and rotations?
I would like Quest's, Blademeld's or Svirves opinion on this. Seeing as I trust their knowledge and experience.
/castsequence
Maximum effectiveness in 95% of all encounters. I have normal bindings for the other 5%.
Edit: My Paladin is in my profile.
