Here's something I'm thinking, but maybe it's making an assumption.
You're saying that you have 6 GB of memory (3 sticks of 2gb 1600 mhhz ram). This requires a 64 bit operating system to fully utilize.
Now, XP does have a 64-bit version, but it's pretty rare because if you think Vista had drivers issues on its 64-bit platform, the XP version was what started it all. XP-64 bit is notorious for major drivers issues.
Or, you just have a 32-bit Windows XP and you only get to see 3 GB of your RAM... if that is the case, then I can't really tell what is wrong.

yes i have a 6 GB of memory atm i am using a 32bit system (windows xp) till i will get the windows 7 (when it get on sale ) cause i don't want to tauch vista.
i have been told that i won't have a problem runing the 32bit and the only downside till i will change is that i can only use 3GB of memory and not the all 6GB.

Good deal then. that's what I do as well (4 GB of Ram in a 32-bit xp prof). Off-topic though, I am a bit concerned that the version number for Windows Vista is Windows 6.0 and Windows 7 is not 7.0, but 6.1. It would seem Windows 7 is just a stripped down version of the Vista kernel, and not a new version at all.
